Gite du Lavande is cosy ,comfortable and oozes charm, yet spacious cottage with two double bedrooms one with double bed and other with two singles,and a family bathroom on the ground floor.A travel cot and highchair can be arranged if requested.
Downstairs you have the main living area with 1 large comfortable sofa and 2 armchairs, wood burner, tv, video, dvd player & hifi, there is also free WIFI, as you enter the property to your left there is a modern kitchen (with gas cooker, fridge and microwave) and a dining area with seating for up to 4 people. A traditional door leads out onto the private dining area (with barbeque), and garden. La Petite Grange has a very effective wood-burning stove and electric heaters for cooler months. Hot water is supplied by an electric boiler, so plentiful hot water at all times. Please note, parts of the cottage have low exposed wooden beams.
The solid wood staircase has child security gates top and bottom, and there are smoke and carbon monoxide detectors throughout. A fire blanket & fire extinguisher are available in the kitchen.
Gite du Lavande has a private enclosed mature garden which also boasts an above ground swimming-pool , and views over the adjoining fields. the locality is ideal for walking, biking and swimming, or simply a place to relax within its tranquil rural surroundings. Chez Jabier also has the unique feature of having no street lights, making it ideal for star-gazers.

The Loire Valley region
There are plenty of swimming lakes in the area: Sidiailles 10- 15 mins drive away. Herculat 25 mins drive away near Boussac and Chatealus-Malvaleix 25 mins drive away. They have cafes, play areas, beaches, water-sports and swimming.
An excellent 18 hole golf course with a spa and hotel called 'Les Dryades' is just a 15 minute drive away in a peaceful oasis of greenery of in Pouligny Notre Dame.
How to get there
Caen and Le Havre are about 5 hours drive 300 miles. Calais Eurotunnel is approx 6 hours drive 400 miles. Limoges International Airport is 1 hour 30 mins car hire is available from the airport. Car is essential.
10kms to the Village of Boussac which has a chateau that can be visited throughout the summer months. 2 Supermarkets, cash machines, cafe's, bars & restaurants. Market day is Thursday morning up until midday. 10Kms to St Sévére sur Indre with local bakers, small supermarket/cash machine Jour du Fete museum.
28km to La Chatre - large market town, 4 large supermarkets, market Saturdays 9-12pm.
The Loire Valley region.
Architectually, the region of Center provides the best examples of Gothic cathedrals anywhere, with the Loire Valley offering the most sumptuous palaces in France.
The Berry, of which Bourges is the capital, produces more than half of the country's fine china. It recently came to fame when some of its porcelain was recovered from the Titanic.
Vouvray, Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé wines all come from vineyards near the river Loire. Some of the best wines are to be found at Bonnezeaux and at Vouvray, where they produce a very good sparkling wine. Consider also trying the remarkably good, local cheeses including crottin de Chavignol and Ste-Maure goat cheeses. Orléans vinegar was also once as famous as Dijon mustard, with more than 200 vinegar-makers and merchants working in the city.
The property is surrounded by countryside . Guided wine tours (in English) can also be arranged locally. Designated cycle routes and nature trails are right on the doorstep with routes that take you through the picturesque villages of the Loire. Fishing, canoeing, horse riding and tennis are all available locally and for keen golfers there is an excellent golf course approx 15 mins away. During the summer months there is in excess of 40 festivals, galas and brocantes held in the area providing lots of local colour. Locally there are plenty of supermarkets, boulangeries, shops, bars and restaurants and a variety of weekly markets close by.
There is a beautiful man-made lake at Sidialles, about 14km from the house. There is a beautiful sandy beach with supervised swimming and a gracious grassy knoll for sunbathing and picnicking. The lake has a restaurant and snack bar and there are reasonably priced rentals of everything from pedal boats to small sailboats, canoes and kayaks. If you can pull yourself away from the pool, this is a lovely alternative.
History buffs will find châteaux, ancient churches and abbeys, Roman ruins and more all within easy reach by car.
Nature lovers will find lovely trails, woods, the Indre and Cher rivers and some fine geological and volcanic parks. For you riders.
There's a variety of stables nearby and several good tennis and golf facilities are also within easy reach. Wine lovers can visit the nearby wineries around Châteaumeillant that are known especially for their pleasant rosés.
