About the home

This cosy cottage is in a little village square close to the village bakery. It has a separate fitted kitchen with a spacious lounge/diner with feature fireplace with fitted log burner. The cottage has a detached garage with ample parking outside for your car. There's excellent cycling along lanes (two mountain bikes plus a childs bike stored in the garage for your use) down to the Aulne River, where there are many exciting fishing opportunities. The local hill, Menez-Hom offers superb views in all directions, in particular you can see right along the lovely Croson Peninsula. There is a wealth of sandy beaches and rugged cliffs to explore, with headlands and caves abundant. Shops cafe/bar and restaurant 110 yards (100m). Tennis courts, basket ball court, 5 a side astro turf pitch and childs play area only 750m away. Pictures available for all rooms and the local village.

I have pictures of all the rooms in the cottage plus pictures of all the surrounding areas, maps and things to do and places to go. There is a full set of baby equipment eg baby gates, bath, chair, cot and others as we have a 6 month old ourselves. The cottage is prepared, cleaned and a full set of new bedding and towels supplied for each stay. We can email any other information that you require so please don't hesitate to contact either Melanie or myself.
The cottage consists of 3 bedrooms , sleeps maximum of 6 people Bedroom 1 - 1 Double Bed 1 Cot,Bedroom 2 Double,Bedroom 3 2 Single Beds, Bedroom 1: 4.0m x 2.5m comes with 2 windows to the front, double bed, wardrobe, bedside cabinets and rug. Also has wall mounted electric heater. Bedroom 2: 4.0m x 2.5m comes with Velux window, two single beds, wardrobe, bedside cabinets and rug. Also has wall mounted electric heater. Bedroom 3: 5.0m x 2.5m comes with Velux window, double bed, travel cot, double wardrobe, access to attic, bedside cabinets and rug. Also has wall mounted electric heater. All linen and towels and whole of house prepared per individual stay and are included in the price.

The living room is very spacious and has a feature log burning fire, it also comes complete with large dining table, and a lovely wooden staircase leading to up stairs. Several beaches within 5 miles (7km) the closest and one of the best is Pentrez Plage. One of the largest European aquariums is based in Brest, its called Oceanopolis the Ocean Discovery Park.

The Brittany / Finistere region

Dineault.

A small quiet traditional french village hidden away but close to all aminites, the property is located near to the beautiful and rugged Croson peninsula with its unspoilt beaches.

It makes an ideal base camp being close to the west coast for beaches and cliff top walking also close is Menz- Hom, a famous land mark with superb views of the peninsula. You can explore the Monts D'Arrée National Park and the Montagnes Noires - both delightful regions for walking, hiking or cylcling. Bikes Available

The Chateaulin / Dineault area

Chateaulin is the largest main town to the cottage approximatly 5 miles away, and has a very reliable train station which goes to other larger towns like Brest or Quimper.

Chateaulin is located on the banks of the river Aulne, of which I have attached a picture, it has plenty of shops, bars resurants, banks et, and is blessed with a famous salmon run through the town with day permits readly available.

Flights start from £9 when booked in advance with FlyBe from Manchester, Birmingham, Exeter and Southampton Airport to Brest Airport which is 40 minutes drive to the cottage, or Rennes Airport approx 120 minutes drive away.
You can catch the ferry from any british port, Roscoff is approximatly 60minutes drive to the cottage.

“A comfortable family cottage in a lovely village, close to beautiful sandy beaches” We booked this cottage quite late through the Owner's Direct website. We liked the location and facilities. The owners were extremely helpful in assisting us with the booking and provided useful details on the area. The directions provided were good and even though we arrived very late on the first night due to the ferry times we had no problem accessing the cottage. The cottage itself was clean and had all the facilities you would expect. The kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of hot water available. The facilities provided for children were very good. We travelled with a 5 month old baby and a cot, baby bath, playmat and chair were all available. For older babies and children there was a highchair and stair gates as well as toys and DVDs provided. The only downside was the small outside area, but then by the end of the day we just wanted to collapse on the sofa. The village itself was very friendly and a bakery very near to the cottage served delicious fresh croissants and baguettes. There is also a small shop selling essentials and a pharmacy nearby. Dineault is ideally situated for exploring Brittany and is within easy reach of Roscoff. There are lovely sandy beaches with shallow water ideal for young children nearby. Our favourites were Morgat, Telgruc and St Nic Pentrez. We also enjoyed days out in Quimper, Locronan, the Oceanopolis in Brest and Douarnenez. There are beautiful views from the nearby Menez Hom and Cap de Chevre, and the boat trip from Morgat to see the caves was very enjoyable.
