The Chateau de la Chauviniere is situated in the Loire Valley midway between Vendôme (on the Loir) and Tours (on the Loire). It is set in the middle of 200 acres of secluded grounds; formal french and english gardens, rose garden, glass house, overlooking a small lake ( fish, ducks ,swans and herons) in a park with centuries old trees, shadowed romantic paths.
A large swimming pool is enclosed and protected by old walls with climbing roses and plumbagos. The farm of the property provides eggs from the poultry, a vegetable garden, fruit trees, sheep and 2 horses.

The Loire Valley / Indre-et-Loire region
The Loire valley is renowned since roman times and the kings of France choosed it at the renaissance to build there fastuous castles (Chambord, Blois, Amboise, Chenonceaux, Villandry, Ussé, Azay-le- rideau). It is nice and mild climate most of the year. Famous wines grow there (Vouvray, Bourgueil, Chinon). Small towns and churches, nice landscapes have inspired some of the greatest french writers (Ronsard, Rabelais, Balzac)
Chateau-Renault area
Local activities include wine tasting in the numerous spots of the Vouvray valley, visiting Tours, Vendôme with their splendid cathedrals and charming old quarters, strolling along the banks of the river Loir with its charming small towns (Montoire and Lavardin )or the river Loire with its famous royal castles. There are a lot of music festivals in season, classical, world folklore and jazz. Several magnificent gardens are to visit too: Villandry, Sasnières, Chaumont 's festival of gardens. Helicopter tours are also a local treat .
