La Creuse is a typical farmhouse of the Morvan region. Built around 1850 and features many original oak beams. The House is located only 3 kilometres from Chateau Chinon, which is a friendly town with good amenities for shopping and eating out. Chateau Chinon is in the Morvan Regional Nature Park, which is famed for its old forests, numerous rivers and lakes. La Creuse offers very comfortable accommodation for 6 people. It is bordered by farm land and has magnificent views from all aspects. It sits in it's own 2 acre plot which is mainly orchard, soft fruit, grapes and grass.

Burgundy is steeped in ancient and modern history. It is reknowned for its excellent wines and food. The Morvan Park is a haven for cyclists, walkers, lovers of watersports and those who just want peace and quiet.
Chateau Chinon / St Hilarie-en Morvan area
Visit Vezelay and it's famous Basilique Ste-Madeleine, the Abbaye de Fontenay, Chablis and its wines, Paray-le-Monial and its Basilique du Sacre-Coeur, Chateau Chinon and Mitterand's museum, to name just a few of the attractions in the area. If you want modern history visit the Museum of the Resistance. You will find small villages and towns nestling in the countryside. Many of these villages hold regular markets and fetes for visitors to enjoy. If you enjoy motor sports you could visit Magniy Cours.
How to get there
The drive from Calais takes 5 hours using a route that skirts around Paris. This is the most direct route and uses the excellent French motorway network. There are various other routes that use motorways combined with N roads which take you through very picturesque contryside. As you are nearing the house you drive through the Morvan National Park with stunning views and numerous lakes and forests. Poets call it "the green land of running waters"

Further details indoors: There are 2 double bedded rooms and one room with twin beds: all three are well equipped with wardrobes, chests of drawers and bed side units. The lounge, with its dining area,is very large with a superb open fire. The dining table is of oak from the area and seats 8 comfortably. The Kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, gas cooker and microwave. There is one full bathroom and also a separate shower room, separate toilet and wash basin room. Maps of the area, reading books and board games

Guests are welcome to pick the ripe fruit from the numerous fruit trees and bushes, not to mention the vines!
La Creuse is within easy driving of many famous wines, chateaux and towns of interest. It is also an ideal location to simply do nothing!

NB: Prices may be subject to change at the owner's discretion. Change over is usually Saturday. Long weekend rates are negotiable. End of holiday cleaning and laundry is included in rental prices. French conversation lessons can be arranged with prior notice. Wine tasting tours can also be arranged with a local English speaking company. Christmas, New Year and Easter weeks are at high season rate of £500.00 per wwek.
