The Western Ireland region

The West of Ireland conjures up many images: thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.

Charlestown

Charlestown is known as the 'Gateway to the West of Ireland' and is on the Mayo/Sligo border. There is a variety of pubs, restaurants and shops in the town, while scenic walking and cycling, golf and fishing can all be enjoyed. Knock Airport is a short drive away.
