A peaceful relaxing and fun holiday can be enjoyed at Alpine Grove Log Cabins. From the tranquil setting of your own log cabin, you can discover the unique charm of a holiday in beautiful woodland. Here the delights of the outdoor life are on your doorstep, discover the wealth of wildlife especially Rabbits, Pheasants, Buzzards, Woodpeckers and even Roe Deer (if you are quiet).

Perfect for couples and families plus your family pet is very welcome


Spend the day as you choose, we have some lovely scenic circular walks starting from Alpine Grove.

Newly built we have a real solid round wood log cabin encircled by trees for your privacy yet open enough to let sunlight through. We aim to give you that cosy, romantic log cabin retreat experience with a solid wood burner, skylights over the beds for star gazing and a balcony for dining al-fresco.

Our fully equipped bespoke log cabin is exclusively designed for all your needs and is perfect for all year round short breaks or even a long holiday.

The lounge, kitchen and dining room are open plan and arranged with modern day living in mind.
The kitchen is fitted with a gas cooker, dishwasher, fridge/ freezer, microwave and all the crockery you will require.
The lounge has a colour television with Freeview digital channels and a dvd player The cast iron wood burner is your focal point creating that warm cosy atmosphere. A patio door leads to the balcony.

The Dining Area consists of table & chairs with a picture window to spot the resident wildlife and overlooking a private area serving the log cabin. A skylight is positioned over the table area which helps bring the woodland into the cabin..

The bathroom is spacious and luxurious.

There are two bedrooms at the rear of the cabin which are cosy and tastefully decorated. There is one double bedroom with plenty of room for a cot and a triple room (bunk beds with a double bed as the base).
Master bedrooms have skylights over the bed.

Further details outdoors:
Children are occupied with a play area and a giant trampoline complete with safety enclosure netting, plus the abundance of safe cycle and walking tracks within the park to explore and play safely. The woods are great for den building. Try and complete the scavenger trail and receive a prize.

We also have our own outdoor heated swimming pool (82 degrees F) which is positioned in a sun trap complimented with sun loungers.

There is a small on-site shop selling general provisions including local produce. We support our local farming community by selling their free range eggs, bacon, sausages and honey. Additionally we offer confectionary, drinks, ice cream, pocket money toys and postcards.


For cyclists, either follow the level cycle network path to Ilminster or for the fit & healthy perhaps try the 80 mile South Somerset circular cycle route which travels past the campsite.

For walkers & dog owners, a public footpath on the Eastern boundary of the Camping & Caravanning site runs North towards Chard Reservoir Nature Reserve, where fishing permits are available, and South towards Perry Street and the nearest pub just over 1 mile away for good food & drink.

Golf is available at the nearby Wind Whistle Golf Club (2 miles) with both greens & driving range.

Horse riding (approx 5 miles) for beginners to jockeys.

Other nearby activities includes tennis, cinema, boat trips and a lot more.

Easy jet and Ryan air fly to Bristol airport .From many European destinations .
"Fly be "flies to Exeter. (Small airport, and easier to park and get away from quickly).
Heathrow and Gatwick is better for worldwide travellers and is approximately a 2 hours transfer time.

Car hire is reccomended and Europe car offers good value for money.

For trips to and from France " Sea France" and" Brittany Ferries" offer a regular service from Poole Weymouth and Plymouth (Plymouth is good for overnight crossings to Spain).

For Day Trips to Jersey or Guernsey , the port of Weymouth is approximately 50 minutes away.

Beautiful
Just returned from a stay in tawney owl,what can i say didn't want to leave!,it is a really beautiful cabin alot of work has gone into the making of it,everything is of a high standard.when i first walked it the smell hit me it was a lovely fresh pine smell which really set the mood of the whole place,please don't change a thing.The people who owned the place seemed friendly,we had scones and fresh clotted cream on arrival! then they left us to get on with it,which was nice we had the whole place to ourselves,i will back lol!
Best In Britain
We stayed at Tawny Owl Lodge, and luckily enough the weather was fantastic. It was all we expected and more. Comfort and homely and the great treatment from Helen and Freddy. I'd recommend it as a great British holiday, a home away from home.
Wonderful long weekend break 26th- 29th September 2008
Roe Deer Lodge - complete relaxation, peaceful location, perfect hosts, swimming pool warm and we were lucky with the weather. Log cabin was perfect for the setting, wood burner cosy. We will definitely be returning for another long weekend.
A perfect week away
Thank you for a wonderful week in the Roe Deer Cabin from 19th September 2008. It is a truly lovely cabin, very homely and relaxing. The cabin is of a very high standard and well furnished and was clean and tidy. We were sad to leave and shall definitely be coming back again next year. The scones and clotted cream and jam were a wonderful welcome gift, especially after a long drive down. Thank you !!
Brilliant
We stayed in Tawny Owl Lodge. What a revelation everything turned out to be. We couldn't have wished for anymore, it was a real home from home. From a disability point of view the steps up to the cabin were steep and a few grab rails in the bathroom would help not that anything dampened our delight. In spite of the weather we had great fun exploring familiar places. Richard and Helen and the dogs made us feel very welcome and looked after us very well. We look forward to returning in the near future and we are spreading the good news of Alpine Grove to all our doggie owning friends. Thank you so much for such a brilliant time.
Luxurious Log Cabin
We have just returned from our first stay at Alpine Grove and loved it. The cabin had everything we as a mature couple needed, we were on holiday with our Daughter son-in-law grandkids and dogs. We stayed in the cabin Twany Owl and had our grandson to stay. Thanks and see you again
