The Cumbria region

Langdale View is set at the very heart of the Lake District National Park.

It is a superb area in any weather or season: enjoy lambs gamboling in spring, paddle in the nearby river in summer, have your breathe taken away by spectacular autumnal colours on the fells or cosy up eating well-earned pub grub near the open fire in Wainwrights [just down the road] after a snowy walk in winter

Visit the nearby homes of Wordsworth in Grasmere and Beatrix Potter in Far Sawrey

Just a step away from lovely Elterwater and Dungeon Ghyll with its famous pub and the enticing Langdale Pikes.

Perfect place to use as a base to climb Scafell or drive over the passes to the sea

"You can't fail to relax!"

We had a fabulously relaxing weekend. The accommodation was perfect, clean & cosy with everything you need to shut the world out for a few days. The village and surrounding area is beautiful & tranquil and gives you a taste of the real lake district - we will be returning in 2014.

"Very comfortable cottage in a lovely village with all you need, shop & pub."

We stayed at the cottage for the second week of the school Easter break 2013. Not being too familiar with the Lake District we were very pleased to find that Chapel Stile was the perfect location to explore although you wouldn't really need to go too far as the village has a very pleasant pub and well stocked local convenience store (Co-op) that even sells walking goods and has its own cafe. The cottage is split over three floors and although apprehensive about there being no mains gas (therefore no gas central heating) we were warmer and more cosy than at home - really! The scenery that is on the doorstep is quite spectacular and sheep grazing on the front lawn was a regular morning feature. This is a clean and well presented cottage in a fantastic central location.

"Perfect location, perfect for families"

This lovely cottage had everything we needed. Comfy beds (including bunks which the kids had a hoot with), kitchen with dishwasher, sun porch, friendly local coop shop. The location is perfectly central to the Lakes, and we saw Beatrix Potter, Coniston etc, nicest walk though was under our noses Skelwith Bridge to Elterwater along a stunning riverside.

"Good accommodation with a lovely view"

The house is very comfortable and the living area is larger than it appears in the photographs. The kitchen has everything you need, the living area is a good size and includes basic Sky channels for rainy days! The patio area out the front is lovely. The bedrooms were very comfortable. Just a short walk to a very well stocked shop and cafe, and just a short drive to Ambleside which is a lovely town. The owner is very friendly and most helpful.

This accommodation is in a superb location for visiting the Langdale fells and the surrounding area. It has excellent view across the Langdale fells. The accommodation is comfortable, good value for money and within walking distance to a village shop and pub.

"brilliant location for walking"

What a gem of a find. Everything you could want for a weeks holiday in lovely surroundings. Memory foam beds were lovely and comfy. Decorated to a high standard and everything we needed in the kitchen area. Cant wait to come again.
