The Heart of England/Peak District

The Peak District and Derbyshire is a contrast of high rolling moorland, craggy outcrops and picture post card vales and valleys with ‘chocolate box' villages. The whole area is dominated by Britain's first national park; The Peak District National Park which has been catering for visitors for many years. It's easy to get around with a good network of roads and excellent public transport. There are many places of interest including some lovely towns and villages such as Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne as well as historical attractions like Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. To the north of the region is the High Peak, with miles of heather moorland and great country walks and cycling.

Chapel en le Frith

Located at the edge of the Peak District and close to the border with Cheshire is the bustling market town of Chapel en Le Frith. Often referred to as the ‘capital of the Peak', this exciting town has plenty to offer the visitor by way of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as holding a market every Thursday. Well served by bus and rail, Chapel en Le Frith is also popular with keen walkers, with many exciting walks such as the Peak Forest Tramway Trail, the Eccles Pike Walk and walks around Combs reservoir all easily accessible from the town. Visitors will also find themselves within easy reach of popular family attractions such as the Chestnut Centre Conservation Wildlife Park, famous for being the home of Europe's largest collection of multi-specied otters and owls, as well as many other exciting species. Only a 15 minute drive from the Hope Valley and within easy reach of the popular market town of Bakewell and the famous spa town of Buxton, visitors to Chapel en Le Frith are never far from the top Peak District attractions. From Chatsworth House to the Pavilion gardens and the opera house, there is certainly plenty to do in this beautiful area of the Peak District.
