The Heart of England/Peak District

The Peak District and Derbyshire is a contrast of high rolling moorland, craggy outcrops and picture post card vales and valleys with ‘chocolate box' villages. The whole area is dominated by Britain's first national park; The Peak District National Park which has been catering for visitors for many years. It's easy to get around with a good network of roads and excellent public transport. There are many places of interest including some lovely towns and villages such as Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne as well as historical attractions like Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. To the north of the region is the High Peak, with miles of heather moorland and great country walks and cycling.

Chapel en le Frith

Boasting a number of exciting attractions to entice the visitor, from the Pavilion Gardens to the famous Buxton Opera House, Poole's Cavern and Go Ape for the children, it seems this picturesque town has something to offer individuals of all ages. With a number of delightful shops, cafes and pubs as well as fine restaurants, the nightlife can be equally as riveting as the day life in this attractive town. The peaceful old market town of Bakewell is also close by, offering riverside walks and more pubs, restaurants and cafes for visitors to sample. For those feeling a little more adventurous, the popular country houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are also within driving distance, offering delightful days out for the whole family, with their impressive gardens and regal interiors. Combining all of the above with the comprehensive list of walks and cycle trails located all around the Peak District, it seems that visitors from all walks of life will have a holiday to remember in this alluring part of Derbyshire.
