Quietly situated on the edge of Almyrida village but only a few yards away from the shops, bars and tavernas and the soft sandy beach. Beautifully appointed apartment set in private gardens with large swimming pool and terraced area with sun beds and umbrellas.

Spacious, airy and recently upgraded apartment set in private grounds only a stones throw from the beach and within yards of the shops and tavernas of Almyrida.

There is wheelchair access and parking space.Apartment is spacious and airy with balconies and views over the gardens and pool or gardens and mountains. Well appointed and recently upgraded.

Niriides Hotel is a small complex of 12 comfortable apartments.The hotel is only 150m away from the two shallow, sandy beaches of Almyrida while it also has a large swimming pool (12,5m X 6,5m) with a special section for children. Almyrida’s beaches have been awarded the blue flag, a symbol of quality based on strict criteria, and there is always a lifeguard on watch.
Large terraced area with sunbeds and umbrellas, beautifully landscaped gardens, large pool with children's pool attached. Parking space. Bus stop just out of the door. Bicycles and water sports available close by. Bowling available locally. Also ATM's, supermarkets, shops, tavernas, bakery shop and cafe bars. Many places of historical interest.

The Crete region

Crete was the centre of Europe's most ancient civilization, the Minoan. Since then this famous island has come a long way. People from all over the world visit so they can glimpse at three magnificent ruins of ages past, swim in the crystal clear waters next to the golden beaches, take in the sights and sounds of the unique natural environment, dance and sing along the traditional music bands or taste the local delicacies in the family taverns and restaurants.

The Chania / Almyrida area

Almyrida is layed on the sandy beach of a green peninsula where it was first established back in the centuries, by the ancient Phoenicians, who’s settlements can still be seen on the hillside of Mavroharakas. It is a small fishermen village with no more than 50 - 100 residents. The village is known as a turquoise shallow and sandy beach full of hospitable people, with excellent family restaurants of traditional Mediterranean cuisine and café bars for choice nightlife. People from all over the world love the quiet and traditional way of life and come to Almyrida for an enjoyable vacation.

Almyrida is the ideal place in Crete for people who want to enjoy the sea in peace and quiet, far from the noise of the major tourist resorts. You can use Almyrida as a base to explore the picturesque Apokoronas area on foot or by car, with its tiny hamlets hidden in the hills or nestled on the green mountainsides. Almyrida also offers the opportunity for budget holidays near Chania, as the city is only a short distance away and you can easily go there by bus, while the hotels in Almyrida are definitely cheaper that those in Chania.

Almyrida shares the famous Mediterranean climate with hot but never uncomfortable summers and mild winters. Still, most of the visitors will say that the best seasons to come to Almyrida is during the Spring or Autumn when the temperature never climbs above 25C or drops bellow 20C.

Two nearby villages -Plaka and Gavalohori- offer themselves for relaxing strolls and take pride on their taverns serving traditional home cooked food and cafés at the central square. Plenty of famous traditional fairs and festivals take place in the villages of the area where visitors can enjoy local delicacies and Cretan music and songs. All three villages are located at the Prefecture of Chania, Crete, at the west part of the island.

Chania airport to Almyrida: Almyrida is 25km from the airport and a 40 minute drive around Souda Bay.
Heraklio airport to Almyrida: Almyrida is about 2 hour drive on the National Road.
A pick up service by taxi can take you from the Chania Airport to Almyrida on your arrival for 80 euros. This price also covers taking you back to the airport on the day of your departure.
Local buses run regularly between Almyrida and Chania city.
There are always local taxis available.
