About the home

Villa Petra II 'Amanda' was a delightful & luxurious experience for many visitors.The excellent comments,motivated us to double the success.Villa Petra II,5 kms from Georgioupolis and a few hundred metres from the tiny hamlet of Maza, this charming three bedroom villa, stands alone on a tiny plateau amongst rolling hillsides covered by cypress and pine trees with the ethereal backdrop of Crete’s fabulous White Mountains.Although newly built, the authentic stone walls bound together & give an impression of mellow old age & the traditional Cretan architecture is carried through to the interior where dark wood beamed ceilings rise to the eaves. Fully furnished in an attractive antique style, the house enjoys all mod cons with 21st century kitchen and bathroom fittings, as well as satellite TV and a small Hi Fi system with CD player.Although Georgioupolis with its lovely sandy beaches is now a thriving seaside resort it still retains a pleasing rural ambience and leisurely pace of life.

Through a stone-made patio you are led to the villa Petra II 'Amanda'. On entering you come into a an open plan living area, equipped with antique furniture, a satellite TV, a hi-fi system with CD-player, two traditional sofas/beds, an armchair and a stone made fireplace, in the centre of the living room. Then there are a couple of stairs which lead into an attic conversion, with two sofabeds and a coffee table in the middle, there is also a balcony where you can sit and enjoy the view!!
On your left a stone archway welcomes you to the spacious kitchen. This fully equipped kitchen will definitely remind you of the one you have at home. There you will find a large fridge with freezer, an oven, a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker,kettle, toaster and many other necessary kitchen utensils. There is also a dining area with a table for eight in the same room.
Three steps lead you to the bedroom area, with it's three comfortable bedrooms with tailed floors and wooden ceilings. The two master bedrooms, one of them has a traditional wooden double bed while the other has a metallic double bed, both have a mosquito net, bedside tables, large wardrobes with a mirror and an en suite bathroom with shower and WC. The third bedroom is twin bedded also with bedside tables and a large wardrobe with a mirror.All bedrooms have air conditioning units and offer you safe boxes and TV. Opposite the master bedroom you can find a small storage room with an iron, the iron board and some space for your luggage. Further between both bedrooms is the master bathroom, with a Jacuzzi tub and WC for total relaxation and peacefulness.

“Villa Petra II Amanda” is a luxurious villa, situated in the district of Maza, Apokoronas. The villa is 154 sqm big and can accommodate up to 8 people offering unique moments of peace and calmness. The stone house was built and decorated with care and respect towards the Cretan tradition. In addition the villa was built having in mind the ideal home and is furnished as to provide high standard services. The wooden beamed ceilings and the antique furniture are the two very first things you will notice on entering the villa.
In front of the house is a large veranda with a sitting area, ideal to enjoy a drink or meal during the evening. Outside the stone house is a lovely garden full of beautiful flowers,grass and trees. You can relax and enjoy the breathtaking view from the hammock. The yard is lawn paved and the special playground offers several options for the children.
The complex has also a large swimming pool (45sqm), a baby pool and a beautiful surrounding large paved sun terrace with a table for four. This open plan terrace offers an amazing view of the surroundings.
In the swimming pool area you will find a douche, deckchairs, umbrellas and a barbecue which offers fantastic tastes for you and your company. “Villa Petra 2” is centrally heated.
There is also an area you can play badminton.

We shall provide you with one stick for a 3G ADSM connection and a prepaid card upon arrival. The card costs 15euro and offers 3GB download*.This is an additional charge. The prices charged are the ones which come straight from the internet provider. We do not charge anything extra. If you would like more credit upon arrival,please inform us before. There are many selling points around the area at which you will be able to "recharge" the card.

The Crete region

Crete is a fantastic holiday destination with a large variety of landscapes and activities. You can
walk through the olive groves, linger in the ancient sites, visit the beautiful beaches and explore breathtaking scenery.

Another choice is the village Georgioupolis. It's a beautiful village situated on the northern coast of Crete, at about 35km distance from Chania and 20 km from Rethimno. The village square and tavern are the focal points for evening entertainment. (Chania and Rethimon are extremely interesting with their many shops and attractive Venetian harbour areas).

The Chania / Maza/Apokoronas area

In the village Maza near the villa you can find a traditional tavern and a traditional cafeteria where you can taste the real Cretan specialities. For more amenities like mini markets, traditional taverns and cafenions, restaurants, tourist shops, post office, internet cafe or a local doctor you should drive to the village Vrisses. It’s about a 5min to drive.

For an even larger variety like all the necessary shops, numerous taverns and cafenions you can find them all along the coast, but a wide choice, such as banks and a post-office can be found, of course, at a short distance, in Chania. The location of the house makes it perfect for many walks all around the villa. Near the villa is a small Byzantine church to visit (Agios Nikolaos).
