Home description
Built in 2003 and designed by the owners, the property is ideally situated in a secluded olive grove in beautifully landscaped gardens and yet is only minutes away from the beach, bars and restaurants of Almerida and the village of Plaka.
The accommodation is set out over 100 sq metres and the three double sized bedrooms are well furnished and equipped. Now with Satellite TV. The double bedroom, the kitchen and lounge walk out onto the large covered veranda and then you are only steps away from the 10m x 4.5 metre swimming pool which is 1.450m level depth. The plot is very private and not overlooked by other properties.
A set of steps allow easy access to the pool and a metal ladder is also fitted. For less able guests, the pool terrace is accessible via the ramp at the side of the house. The large pool terrace has plenty of sunbeds, a sunshade and a brick built barbeque. There is a dining table and chairs on the covered veranda for alfresco dining. The large lawned gardens offer shade under the olive trees where you can relax in the freestanding hammock. There is a pergola view point area for chilling out and enjoying the extensive view across Souda Bay to the Akrotiri. There are beautiful views from all aspects of the villa and gardens.

The Crete region
Crete is the southern most of the beautiful greek islands and is full of history and culture. Great for beaches and sunbathing, walks, bird watching, visiting ancient sites, and the local wines and olive oils. Visit the capital city, Iraklion and see the fortress with it's Venetian Walls (approx 1 hour and 40 minutes drive). Within 40 minutes you can be in Chania old town with it's beautiful harbour and labarynthine streets. Rethymno is approximately 45 minutes drive and has both a Venetian fortress as well as harbour and wonderful meandearing streets selling everything from designer clothing to traditionally made cakes and pastries. Take in the stunning coastal scenes and enjoy the peaceful rugged landscape. Drive over the Lefka Ori (White Mountains) and visit the south side of the island - maybe enjoying a dip in the Lybian Sea. Soaked in history and tradition Crete offers everything you can wish for including the most temporate climate of all the greek islands so enjoying beautiful sunshine for approximately 300 days per year.
Chania / Almyrida area
Only minutes walk from the villa is the sandy beach with it's shallow waters lined with loungers and shades. Along the beach you will fine traditional greek, fresh fish, Italian and english cuisine as well as snacks and light bites.
Relax, eat and drink whilst enjoying the sights and sounds of Almerida Bay. Sailing, kayaking and windsurfing are available with tuition if required. A few bars offer late drinks, music and entertainment. There are money exchanges, minimarkets ATM and two bakeries in Almerida, car hire, a bowling alley, hairdresser and disco.
Plaka, less than 1 km away from the Villa has two minimarkets, two family run tavernas and a coffee shop. There are a couple of bars and you can enjoy the major sporting events on big screen TV or play pool and darts. Kalives is approx 5 kms (10 minutes drive) has banks, ATM's, pharmacies, shops, restaurants and several lovely beaches.
How to get there
We recommend car hire in order to fully explore the area and for your own convenience. supermarket runs etc. We can help with car hire and have good contacts for reputable companies. There is a regular bus service from Almerida to Chania a taxi rank which will pick up and drop to the villa. Transport can be arranged to and from the airport at an extra charge and will be quoted separately depending on airport and number of people.

Further details indoors: The kitchen is well equipped with full sized fridge freezer, washing machine, cooker and hob, microwave and plenty of crockery and cutlery. The dining/living area is spacious and comfortable with a dining table and chairs for six and two comfy sofas. Both bathrooms have wc, basin and shower and one has a full sized bath. Bedlinen and bathroom towels are provided and a linen and towel change mid week is available on request.
Property is suitable for wheelchairs-Only one step from the parking area to the apartment, and one step to the swimming pool and terrace area - access o the pool is via half moon shaped wide steps
The apartment comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 2 twin and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.
The apartment has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the apartment cool. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.
There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.
Further details outdoors: The apartment is in a very quiet area. It has a private north facing swimming pool, a north facing garden, a north facing patio area, a north facing balcony, sea views, both panoramic and interesting views, a barbecue and a wonderful draped pergola with fabulous views of Souda Bay. If you are driving there is plenty of private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

We can accommodate short breaks and can give discounts for stays of one month and over. The property is ideal for winter breaks with full oil fired central heating together with a cosy wood burning stove.
