The cottage benefits from the traditional way it is built which fits perfectly into the beautiful and traditional village Vamos. Settled at the edge of the village you enjoy tranquil and relax during your holidays. The cottage is decorated and arranged with love regarding the Cretan culture and the way of building and living. In the nicely arranged garden you find olive trees, a small chapel, a Koumos, massages on request, a BBQ and last but not least the big swimming pool and an extra basin for children. The breakfast (included in rental price) area gives you a perfect start of the day in this beautiful surrounding.

Entering the cottage you find to the left the well equipped kitchen with big fridge/freezer, microwave, oven. Furthermore a dining table with 4 chairs. To the right entering a small step there is a lounge with a sofa and a single bed. A TV and a DVD/CD-player offer the possibility to relax inside. In the ground floor there are 2 bedrooms, 1 with a double bed and en-suite shower room, 1 twin bedroom with a single bed and 1 bed of size 1,25 m with an en-suite shower room. An extra shower room is at the ground floor as well.
In first floor (Mezzanine Level) there are 2 sofas, a table with 4 chairs and another TV. Most of the times you will prefer to just enjoy the spacious balcony in front of this mezzanine which offers you incredible panoramic views above the landscape, White Mountains and even to Akrotiri Peninsula. Have a good book, a cup of tea, some local tasty food or just fun with your family and friends you are with.

The Crete region
Crete is the most southern island of Greece. Due to its close location even to Africa and its Mediterranean climate temperatures even in winter are mostly not lower than 10 degrees C. In spring you enjoy warm sun and beautiful views to the snow-covered White Mountains which reach heights to 2.400 meters. June, July and August are the hot summer months.
Long sandy beaches and the crystal-blue sea invite to cool down during a hot summer day and in the evenings many facilities let you relax while shopping. strolling or just having a cocktail or juice.
So Crete is all year round worth a trip. The Apokoronas area is a small slice of old Crete in-between green hills, olive trees infused with the values of traditional hospitality. In that area many traditional and still not tourist village are located.
The Chania / Vamos area
The village of Vamos is famous for its local crafts and organic products including thyme honey, pickles, jams, cheeses and olive soil soap. It also has a local bakery, a 19th Century Kafenion and traditional tavernas where tasty Cretan specialities, such as chicken in red wine, cuttlefish and fennel, artichokes or chickpea purée are cooked in stone ovens and served with some of the island's best wine. In low season, log fires create a wonderful evening atmosphere and in summer, large plane trees provide welcome shade. For those who want to explore authentic Cretan food a little further, local cookery courses are available. The village is also starting point for walking tours of the surrounding countryside. The lovely village of Almyrida, which is built around a crescent shaped sandy beach, is only 5 kms away. This beach is very shallow and safe, which is good if you have children or are not a strong swimmer. Lining the beach are many excellent tavernas, cafes and shops. Also in Almyrida there is a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfers and catamarans. For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 30 minutes away by car. The K-Travel Office is located in Almyrida as well.

Travelling to Crete is possible either via airport Heraklion or Chania.
From May until October direct flights from many European cities with different flight companies (e.g. easyjet) are available.
During winter direct flights are just offered to Heraklion. To Chania it is necessary to change flights in Athens.
If you prefer travelling by car there are good ferry connections through Italy - Greece.
