About the home

Villa Kali Thea is located just five minutes drive from the beach. Its hillside location boasts panoramic views of the Lefka Ori (White Mountains) and the Gulf of Kissamos. Quiet and peaceful, yet only five minutes from the town, the villa has easy access to all amenities, including local supermarkets, banks and tavernas/restaurants for eating out.

The villa benefits from its own private pool, with a shallow end perfect for the children. Leading from the spacious living/dining room is a spacious balcony with stunning sea views, furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco. Complete with a fully equipped kitchen an archway leads you through to the ground floor double and single bedrooms. (single bedroom contains a set of bunk beds) The villa is ideal for families, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.

Kali Thea is the perfect location for a relaxing holiday and ideally placed for you to explore the beautiful beaches and historic surroundings of Western Crete. A complimentary welcome pack is provided and there is a maid service twice weekly (dependent upon length of stay).

The master bedroom on the first floor has an adjoining dressing room, large bathroom with bath and shower and two private balconies.

The double bedroom on the first floor also has an en-suite shower room and has two balconies. There is also a single sofa bed to create a family room for parents with a younger child.

Within the lobby area there is a small library which holds maps, paperback novels which guests are able to use. There is also a children's toybox with games. We have also created an information folder which is kept in the villa with useful local information, contact numbers, activities etc.

Travel Cots available on request - Highchair and baby monitor included as part of this package (please enquire for rates)

The 8x5m (40m2) private swimming pool also has a small children's section for our younger guests.

The Crete region

Crete is the largest and most southerly of the Greek islands. Said to be the birthplace of Zeus, today it is an endless source of intrigue and interest for both visitors who love to explore and those seeking a relaxing retreat. Historical sites scattered across the island reveal secrets of the ancient Minoan civilization.

It has everything you want from an Island, from soaring mountains, the famous Gorge of Samaria which is a must for nature-lovers, Minoan Palaces and traditional villages set next to a clear deep blue sea with tavernas serving freshly caught fish. The city of Chania offers many opportunities for relaxation and a wonderful variety of attractions. With its narrow streets in the Venetian old quarter which are cool and shady by day, to the exciting tavernas, restaurants and shops which take on a vibrant characteristic by night.

Whilst exploring the Island you are never far away from the White Mountains (Lefka Ori) which appear with snow covered caps - even in the summer months.

It has an extraordinary range of scenery – from gentle, fertile plains to wild, uninhabited gorges. Its moods and colours change from month to month. There is a truly magical radiance about the island. From the abundance of wildlife, plants and flowers that are unique to the island to the ever present scent of wild herbs.

Crete has hundreds of villages and small towns each being truly individual and unique places just waiting to be explored.

The Chania / Kastelli Kissamou area

Kissamos is developing slowly but has not lost its local charm. It has many conveniences such as supermarkets, bakeries, banks, pharmacy, hospital, tavernas, cafes and bars.

Within a short drive is Falassarna beach. It is regarded as one of the nicest, natural beaches in Crete and one of the ten best beaches in Greece; it is located 16 km west of Kissamos. There are local boat trips to Gramvoussa/Balos Lagoon with its turquoise sea and pink sandy beach.

For those wishing a more vibrant nightlife, Chania is only a 20 minute drive, with its leather lanes, beautiful buildings and stunning venetian harbour with many restaurants, bars and shops.

During the summer direct Charter flights to Chania (CHQ) operate on a Tuesday from Birmingham / Bristol / Gatwick / Manchester and most major cities in the UK and Ireland and are operated by Air 2000, Monarch, Thomas Cook (JMC), Azorair.

The Charter flights will be operating from April to the beginning of November.

Easy Jet has 4-7 flights a week from Gatwick to Heraklion and 2 flights a week from Manchester. (From Heraklion the villa is approx 2 hours drive).

Anek Lines have daily ferry connections from Piraeus/Athens to Souda/Chania.
