Completed in 2007 Villa Helia sits on top of a small hill just above the sea side village resort of Almyrida . Its fantastic ,peaceful and private location means panoramic views across olive slopes to the sea , the beautiful wide blue bay of Almyrida. The villa is complemented by a beautiful pool ( 10m by 5m ) and a large patio which we are sure will be a favoured spot ,day as well as evening ,to enjoy the views and barbecues under the magnificent star filled sky.
The villa is light and airy enhanced by large picture windows and ceiling fans throughout. In addition there is air conditioning in all the bedrooms. The open plan kitchen / lounge has all that you will need for a perfect holiday . The kitchen is well equipped with full cooking facilities and the living area equipped with two sofas , CD and DVD player (TV as screen only) . DVDs and books available for your use.
On the ground floor there is one bedroom (king size double bed) which opens directly on to the terrace. There is also a shower room with a powerful shower,sink and wc.
On the first floor there are 2 further bedrooms and a full bathroom with a bath and shower ,as well as sink and wc. Each bedroom has a very large private balcony leading off it with fabulous sea , mountain and countryside views.
The villa also has central heating for early and late season bookings

The Crete region
Crete is one of the most beautiful of the greek islands with the option of peace and quiet or a more active holiday. It represents an amalgam of the best of Greece including great tavernas offering fresh fish dishes.Western Crete offers fantastic scenary with many outstanding drives, which the owner would be happy to advise on.
The magnificent White Mountains which can be clearly seen from the villa offer fantastic opportunities for walkers. There are several gorges to walk, the most famous being the Samaria Gorge which meanders down a trail for 18 kms to the pretty resort of Agia Roumeli. There are also many spectacular local walks and tracks for cycling.
The natural freshwater lake of Kournas provides a picturesque venue for lunch, a swim or a pedalo.
The Venetian influenced town of Chania is close and offers quaint, narrow streets with many shops ,as well as a beautiful harbour lined with tavernas and cafes serving excellent local food.
Chania / Almyrida area
In and around the picturesque sea side village of Almyrida you will find excellent beaches, surfing and water sports, Tavernas, bars, shops and supermarkets
Further afield there is a water park at Limnoupolis , carting track, boat trips from the harbour at Chania and historical sights such as the World War 2 museum and Allied and German cemetries.

Flights to Chania Airport ( Approx 40 minutes drive to villa ) with Monarch, Thomson Fly, First Choice, Thomas cook
Flights to Heraklion Airport ( Approx 11/2 hours drive to villa ) with Easyjet , and other charter airlines as above. Jet2.com from Leeds/Bradford from 20 May 2008
There are numerous car hire companies operating from both Chania and Heraklion airports. or locally in Almyrida, owner can recommend on request
