Situated in the popular resort of Almyrida, a beach front house is the perfect base for those who wish to unwind and relax in an environment where all facilities are within walking distance.
The ground floor has a fully equipped kitchen, balcony with view to the mountains, a shower room, a dining area and a double sofabed. On the first floor there is another bathroom, a twin bedroom with mountain views, and a double bedroom with a large sundeck over looking the beach, which has won the Blue Flag award for cleanliness and safety. Here you can sit in the shade and read a book, or sunbathe and top up your tan while watching the world go by, if the 60 second walk down to the beach is too much effort.
There is a table and chairs where you can dine 'al fresco' or have a glass of your favourite tipple before taking a leisurely stroll to one of the many nearby tavernas for dinner.

The Crete region
Crete is the largest and most Southerly of the Greek Islands. It boasts over 300 days of sunshine. There is something for everyone on Crete. Miles of beautiful beaches, Historical Sites, Snow capped mountains, Gorges and caves to explore, lakes and wildlife, Modern City life and traditional working villages where time seems to have stood still. You won't be able to see it all in one visit and you certainly won't be bored. Hire a car if you want to make the most of what Crete has to offer.
Chania / Almyrida area
Originally a small fishing village, Almyrida remains an unspoilt small resort. There are a variety of water sports available and many Tavernas right on the sea front serving locally caught fish and fresh local cuisine.
There is a bakery, several bars, supermarkets and shops. Car hire and bus services into Chania Town are all within easy walking distance.
The beautiful Blue Flag awarded beaches in Almyrida have soft Golden sand, clear water and are very safe for children as they shelve gently to the sea. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available.
The larger resort of Kalyves is less than 10 minutes drive away. It has Banks, Chemists, more shops, tavernas and beaches.
Chania itself is easily reached by bus or car. It is a modern coastal city with a full range of facilities for visitors including a weekly market, Hotels, cafes, nightclubs, great shopping, museums and more.
The Harbour is a popular attraction with its beautiful Venitian buildings and is easily recognisable on many picture postcards.
How to get there
The nearest Airport is Chania, which is 30 minutes from Almyrida. Flights from the UK arrive and depart on Tuesdays. Main carriers are: Monarch Thomas Cook XL Airways

Alternative Airport is Heraklion which is approx.1hour 30 minutes from Almyrida. Carriers include British Airways.
Pre arranged hire cars can be collected at the airport, or you can hire a car on arrival as there are many car hire offices there. Budget have always proved to be reliable. Others include Avis, Hertz, Autoclub, Flisvos. The route from the airport is quite simple and directions can be supplied when booking.
Taxi services are also available at the Airport. Expect to pay around 30 Euros.
