The Crete region
Crete is a place with its own tradition, and its own dialect. Local people are very proud for their Cretan origin. The island remnants of occupation by invaders from the Romans,, can still be seen, with architecture still plainly visible. But throughout these invasions the Cretan people have remained relatively unscathed and retain their justifiable pride in their island and their culture.
Chania / Livadia - Keramoti area
Keramoti located on the western coast of the island of Crete. Near the village of Keramoti is located the Famous beach of Elafonisi with sand made of white seaseals.
The Mediterranean climate of the Crete have warm winters and not very hot summers. The most Creten people grow olive trees and other vegetables and fruits. So by visiting Crete, you have the chance to taste the world-known Cretan diet based on vegetables and pure olive oil.
How to get there
Ly to Chania- Direct Charter flights to Chania (CHQ) operate on a TUESDAY from Birmingham / Bristol / Gatwick / Manchester and are operated by Excel, Air 2000, Monarch, Thomas Cook (JMC), Azorair. The Charter flights will be operating from April to the beginning of November. Moreover, you can fly to Chania any day of the week on scheduled flights which depart from Heathrow/ Gatwick / Manchester/ Birmingham and are operated by B.A. and Olympic Airlines and fly to Athens International Airport where you will change onto the Olympic or Aegean Airlines flight direct to Chania which takes approx. 35 minutes. Booking notes All bookings are normally Tuesday to Tuesday. Minimum rental is one week. A 25 % deposit is required to secure the booking. Linen is provided and maid service 2 times per week. A 300 Euro returnable security deposit is required with the final rental payment and will be returned in full if no damage or loss has occurred. The property is booked from 3pm on the day of arrival through to 10am on the day of departure.
