About the home

Do you want to completely get away from City life? Alexis Apartments is ideal relaxation for families and couples. Simply 60 second walk from the beach. Quiet with the natural beauty of a mountain and a secluded bay with clear blue waters you can swim across to the mountain every day.

The bay is naturally created to have very shallow waters to one side of the crescent which is greatly enjoyed by people of all ages including toddlers, children and non-swimmers alike. Enjoy the fact you can walk in your towel with your beach bags from apartment to sea in a matter of seconds and back again for a cheap lunch. Unwind in the evenings at one of the taverna's or simply cook for yourself and sit on the private terrace in the warm evening sun watching the stars appear above the mountain. Enjoy the original panorama once filmed for 60's feature film, Zorba The Greek.

The property is a two bedroom apartment, sleeps 5/6 (4 in 2 bedrooms and 2 with sofa bed). Features Lounge, Dining Room and Kitchette. Private terrace area with sea and mountain views for meals, drinks and sun lounging.

When it comes to white sandy beaches, you are spoilt for choice. Here are our favourites in the area.

Stavros beach

With the exquisite Stavros beach right outside the apartments, you could easily spend your whole holiday splashing in the clear blue sea, snorkelling and sunbathing. This picturesque spot was the backdrop of the final dance scene in Zorba the Greek, and with its breathtaking beauty, it’s easy to understand why. Nature lovers should watch out for the eagles soaring over the coastal mountain.


Marathi beach

Another beautiful sandy beach, this time set against the backdrop of the white mountains and Souda bay. Marathi beach is about a 15-minute drive from Stavros on the south coast of the Akrotiri peninsula. The fish restaurant next to the beach is recommended. Just round the corner from Marathi is Loutraki beach, which is one of the few beaches in the area to offer sea sports.

Tersanas beach

Tersanas is just a few kilometres away from Stavros and offers another excellent sandy beach with a lovely bar overlooking the sea. Good for nights out as well as day trips.

Alexis Apartments are in Stavos, a charming seaside village in the Akrotiri peninsula in Western Crete. The apartments are about 12km from Chania International Airport, which has direct flights from the UK from May to October.

Ryan Air (Glasgow Prestwick) flies every Tuesday direct to and from Chania International.

Getting to us

There is 24-hour car hire at Chania airport or you can get a bus or taxi here. We are only a 20-minute drive away.

We recommend hiring a car so you can explore the area and rest of Crete in your own time. However, if you’d prefer to stay car-free, there are daily buses around the peninsula and to Chania, which is only 17km away. From Chania, you can get a bus or book a tour to anywhere in Crete. The buses between Stavros and Chania don’t run in the evening but taxis are available instead.
