About the home

Town House overlooking both sea and mountains. One of eight town houses with own pool in a 30 town house complex. Hidden well away, but only 5 minute drive to the Old National Road. The high ceilings inside give relief on some of the extremely hot summer days. Often in the evenings you can hear the waves crashing on the beach. For cooler evenings in Autumn and early summers we have two terrace warmers.

The Crete region

Crete is one of the largest and most popular of the Greek Islands. Our townhouse lies on the west coast approximately 25 miles from Chania Village.

Crete was the center of the Minoan civilization (circa 2700–1420 BCE), the first advanced civilization in Europe. It is possible to drive to The Palace of Knosses - approximately 110 kms from our house.

The Chania / Maleme area

The town of Maleme is a ten minute walk away. The town has two large supermarkets, bakery, cafe, butcher, etc. From our house it is approximately a 5 minute walk down to the beach. On the Malame seafront there are many restaurants to choose between. Some of them even serve dinner on a grass area which leads on to the beach. Very peaceful and romantic . There are beautiful views of both mountains and sea. There are also play areas for children, so the adults have time to enjoy their evening.

If you prefer more life and people , it is only 4 kilometres to Platanias. This is a lively tourist town with shops, restaurants, and bars and all the usual attractions of a tourist area.
Five minutes drive and you are in the mountains far away from towns and people.
There are many beautiful beaches on the west coast of Crete. Elafonissi and Falassarna to mention but two.
We are 35 kilometres from "Limnoupolis" . An exciting Water Park for both adults and children.

Several Direct Flights Available from London to Chania. For example with Easy Jet from London Gatwick.

There are also flights available from London to Heraklion. Heraklion is approximately 130 km from our House.

Car Hire is very reasonable on Crete and the cost of a taxi to and from the Airport is almost the same price as renting a car for one week. Prices range from approximately Euro 140.00 - Euro 220.00 per week, depending on the time of the year.

“lovely town house,very quiet” Lovely Town House in a quiet resort.The house itself is wonderful, home from home,it has everything you need.We stayed in early September and I don't know if it was the time of year but unfortunately the private pool and terrace was in shade for most of the day.The pool was very cold we only swam in it once during our stay.The owner was a delight to deal with,no problems whatsoever.We were told we could use the communal pools by the owner but onsite a resident said we couldn't.We did however have a lovely holiday,it was so peaceful and quiet.

“would stay again” The holiday home is in a small complex. The complex was very quiet (we went in May), with only one other resident (who I think lived there all year round as she had some gorgeous dogs). The house backs onto some fields so when we sat on the balcony we heard the birds sing, and the farmers working - it was very tranquill. There are some minimarkets and restuarants in Maleme which is a 5 to 10mins walk, and the beach is only 5 mins walk (although its a little stoney). You could probably stay at the house without a car, as there is a bus stop very close to the house with good links to chania and plantanias. However, some of the best places we visited were off the beaten track, such as balos beach and stavros beach (near chania). I would also recommend driving to elafonsi as the drive is amazing and the beach is beautiful. The house has everything, the only thing we forgot to bring and the house doesn't have is a plug adapter (to charges phones, cameras). Would def stay here again - we had the most amazing holiday.

“Really enjoyed my stay.” The town house is well situated in Maleme close to the beach and to the local shops and restaurants. Perfect place for a relaxing break, but also within easy reach of the livelier Platanias where there are plenty of bars, restaurants and night clubs to choose between. The townhouse is very private and has its own professionally maintained pool, there are aircondition and has all the home comforts. There are 2 lovely bedrooms both with balconies, a good sized bathroom and a downstairs toilet. It has a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher and washing machine. There is a small patio also fully equipped where we ate all our meals, we also enjoyed barbecuing by the pool. I really enjoyed my stay here, and can highly recommend it.

“Excellent Stay” Just returned from a week in Maleme at the Pyrgos Springs and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The property is just as described in a quiet lovely location which was peaceful and away from any hustle and bustle but close enough to all the amenities The house is well set out with all mod cons, dishwasher, washing machine, great cooking facilities 2 great balconies and a good pool

“Perfect, modern, clean holiday villa with all home comforts included” Arrived at the house after fantastic directions from the owner- Jennifer. The house is set within a new development of other town houses- all to the highest of standards. This house is in the town of Maleme- just a few minutes away from the New National Rd. There are plenty of restaurants along the old national rd (Mikes and The Albatross) as well as some very nice Tavernas along the beach (Kyma and East of Eden). The house is fully air conditioned (and was needed in the 36oc heat) and there were plenty of indoor and outdoor heaters for the cooler months. There are two double bedrooms upstairs as well as a bathroom/wetroom large enough for a house full! The house had plenty of towels and bed linen for the whole stay and the washer machine downstairs allowed us to keep them all fresh after a sandy day at the beach. Upstairs there is also a large double balcony with plenty of seating (an area we used at lunchtimes whilst enjoying the sound of the waves from the local beach (10 min walk away). Downstairs there was another toilet/washroom and large open plan kitchen/dining/lounge room with all the home comforts you could ever need. Our 6 year old spent the heat of the day relaxing on the sofa with a DVD (from the selection in the house) whilst we enjoyed the sun around the pool (lilo and inflatables were provided too)!! In the kitchen there is a dishwasher, washer and large fridge/freezer- big enough to fill full of feta, olives and Mythos (very cheap from local supermarket). We hired a car for the entire stay and loved exploring the west side of the island- Falassarna Beach is amazing and well worth the 45 minute drive from the house. We drove into Chania twice at night (20 mins away in the car) and also explored Georgiopouli Village and beach (50 mins away). We had the most amazing week in Crete and would not hesitate to use this house again- it was a fantastic base. Jennifer the owner was brilliant in keeping in touch from the moment we booked in February and accommodated our every wish. The house was modern and clean and to a very high standard- everything was provided apart from the food! So much better than staying in a hotel- and there was no rushing for sunbeds in the morning! In fact eating breakfast on the sunbeds made the holiday extra special! Thank you Jennifer and family for a wonder time.
