About the home

Only one and a half km above the seaside village of Almiryda, Villa Stephania is set amongst hillside olive trees and has views to the sea and across the pine valleys to the White Mountains. Villa Stephania is a modern and comfortable home set in large gardens which provide seclusion and privacy.

The gardens of oleander, bougainvillea and jasmine extend to a walled area of olive, cypress and carob trees.

Around the pool there are areas for both sun and shade. All of the rooms in the villa are sea facing and all living areas and bedrooms lead to sea facing terraces.

There is an outside eating area for those who like to have dinner whilst watching the stunning sunsets.

The beautiful sandy beach at Almiryda is just a 3 minute drive and the Venetian harbour town of Chania is a 25 minute drive.

This villa is suitable for young children and a cot, high-chair and 3 wheeler buggy are available. Air conditioning is provided in all rooms throughout the villa.

Bedroom 1 upstairs with large double bed.
Bedroom 2 upstairs with twin beds.
Bedroom 3 downstairs with twin beds.
All have air conditioning.

Bathrooms: Upstairs bathroom with toilet, bath and shower.
Downstairs bathroom with toilet and shower.
Outside shower by pool.

Kitchen: Full cooker with electric hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and coffee maker.

Utility Room: Washing machine, ironing board and iron.

Living Rooms: Open plan sitting room, dining room and kitchen leading to sea facing terrace with dining area.The living area has modern comfortable sofas with a TV, DVD player, a music system , XBox and Playstation.There is a selection of DVDs, PS Games and books provided.

Cleaning/towels/linen/maid service: Towels and linen are included and there is a maid and linen change twice weekly.

Further details outdoors:
The gardens extend to half an acre. There is a large lawned area and well stocked flower beds. Bougainvillea climbs the front of the villa. The villa is screened by an array of cypress, olive and carob trees.

The swimming pool (7.5x5m) is private and adjacent to it are sun-loungers and umbrellas.

There is gas barbecue on the patio.

The villa is suitable for those with mobility problems. The driveway leads right to the villa which can be accessed without climbing steps. There is a downstairs bedroom and bathroom.

Cheques only, 25% payable upon booking with balance payable 10 weeks before date of departure.

There is also a refundable security deposit of £100.

The villa is available from 2pm on day of arrival. Departure by 10am subject to arrangement for later departure.

The Crete region

On the outskirts of Chania is Limnopoulis, a large water park. There are many historical sights in the region, both of ancient Greece (such as the Minotaur's Palace just outside Heraklion) and modern Greece ( the World War 2 Allied and German cemeteries).

In this part of Crete there are plenty of sandy beaches to choose from, and miles of breathtaking views to take in for walkers and drivers alike.

The Chania / Almyrida area

Almiryda is well located in beautiful and unspoilt Western Crete. Georgiopoulis, where you can take a peddle boat up the river to see turtles in their natural habitat, is just a short drive. So too is Lake Kournas, a large freshwater lake where you can swim or hire a small boat.

Almiryda beach is just a 3 minute drive. It is a beautiful sandy beach laced with small boats. The sea is clean and safe for children. Watersports are available at the centre alongside the beach.

The Venetian town of Chania, has many excellent restaurants, cafés, art galleries and shops lining the picturesque harbour and in the cobbled back streets. Trips on glass bottomed boats, or horse and carriage are available.

Distances
Almiryda 1½km, Chania 25km, the nearby larger village of Kalives is 4km. Plaka (where Zorba the Greek was filmed) is 3km.

Flights with Easyjet, Monarch, First Choice and Thomsonfly are available to Chania from most of the major UK airports. Chania airport is approx 40 mins drive from Villa Stephania. Flights to Heraklion airport, about 1¾ hour away, are also available.

Car hire with most of the major hire companies is available at both airports or locally in Almiryda.

“Perfect for young family” Set in beautiful gardens, very peaceful and private with sea view from your bedroom! Fantastically equipped with everything you could want. Only 3 min drive to Almyrida beach which is shallow, sandy and great for kids. Town has lots of choice for eating out, mini markets, car rental and great bakery. We enjoyed visiting the blue lagoon of stavros beach and chania. Will be recommending to family and friends. Thanks to owners for excellent directions and very helpful cleaner and pool man who visits twice a week.
