For basic necessities, the village of Kontopoula (5km) has a small mini-market, but for stocking up the larder there's a really good supermarket on the outskirts of Souda that you will pass by on your way from Chania airport. The climate is warm every time of the year and there are also great activities to do mostly in Chania and Secondar in Heraklion. In Chania you can visit the Samaria Gorge and in Heraklion you can visit the ancient town and palace of Knossos

Chania

Chania is one of the top destinations worldwide, famous for the crystal clear beaches. For your accommodation you can choose from a variety of villas which you will find in this site. Also, you will combine sports with fun by giving you the chance to try a variety of activities such as water sports. Chania traditional atmosphere will be unforgettable to every visitor.

The cultural background of Chania is very rich, first of all due to the town's long history and its interaction with many diverse civilizations in the past. Furthermore the location of Crete (immediately connected to Athens, situated between Europe, Asia and Africa) as well as the cosmopolitan atmosphere that tourism creates, have generally kept the town up-to-date with modern advances in art and knowledge. Currently, there are several museums, art galleries, theatre and music groups, educational and research institutions within the city.
