Dias-Cretan View is located in a picturesque area of four acres, close to the shore at the location of Stavros in Akrotiri, Chania. It is in this area that the movie 'Zorba the Greek' - from the book of the same name by Nikos Kazantzakis, directed by Michael Kakoyannis and music by Mikis Theodorakis - was filmed.

It is a site that represents the charm of Crete and Cretans as it combines images from rugged and tall mountains, steep shores and sandy beaches, a cultural legacy inherited from the Minoan civilization -the first island culture of Europe- and an excellent hospitality 'filoxenia', memorable to the visitor.

The facilities include a salt-water ecological pool of 100 square meters with a separate shallow section for children and are ideal for accommodating families with children and/or groups of individuals (note: the pool is shared with a one-bedroom apartment which is attached to the house and has its own private entrance).

The house is equipped with electrical appliances (stove, oven, refrigerator, washing machine, TV, microwave oven) and air conditioning in every room. The kitchen cabinets provide all the necessary facilities (plates, glasses, cutlery, pots, etc.).

Due to the short distance from the coast, the blowing fresh sea breeze makes the visitors' stay pleasant even in the hottest days of the summer. Within walking distance or a few minutes' car drive, visitors can reach the clean sandy beaches of Stavros – in case one wants to swim in the sea – as well as fine tavernas offering the famous Cretan cuisine and hospitality.

Dias, a three bedroom condo 100 sq.m., can accommodate 6–8 guests since the sofa in the dining room can turn into a comfortable bed. In front of the ground floor veranda, there is a wooden deck that can be used by visitors for sunbathing, but also to enjoy the sunset, listening to the calming sounds of the sea waves. Apart from the terrace, in front of the two bedrooms on the second floor overlooking the sea, there is a roof garden adjacent to the second floor bedrooms, with uninterrupted view of the nearby mountains and the sea. The place can accommodate equally well big families with children or groups of friends who are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the tranquility of nature but who can at any time also choose to enjoy what a city can offer. Chania is only 30 minutes by car away.

The Crete region

The island of Crete has been known for the combination of breathtaking scenery, excellent climate, healthy diet and good-natured but stubborn people.

Chania is the westernmost of the four prefectures of Crete, gifted with natural beauties and historical monuments. Sixty canyons have been identified, the most known of them being the Samaria gorge. It is a colorful mosaic of large green areas of olive trees, idyllic beaches (Balos, Elafonisi, Falassarna, to name a few) and tall mountains, traditional villages, archaeological sites, museums: an excellent destination for every traveler.

Chania also offers entertainment for every taste, music clubs, open cinemas, galeries, museums. The local market offers special crafts (hand woven and leather) and fresh produce. Cretan cuisine is rich with healthy and tasteful dishes cooked with olive oil which are well accompanied by the unique taste and smell of 'tsikoudia' (local spirit).
