The Florida / Orlando Disney Area
Champions Gate is a great city due to its location in Central Florida. You are minutes from Disney, yet far enough to feel relaxed and away from the city life. The climate is great in Champions Gate, sunny skies most of the time.
Being an hours drive from the sea doesn't stop Orlando from being an excellent place for a swim. Discovery Cove is a collection of man-made lagoons surrounded by a sandy beach. Visitors can snorkel with schools of tropical fish in a coral reef, come within inches of barracuda and sharks safely behind acrylic screens or swim among rays. There is a fresh water pool and a tropical river that gently guides floating guests through the park. If you have the time we recommend taking a day out to visit the west coast between St Petersburg and Fort Myers. There are many lovely beaches along this stretch and Bradenton in particular is recommended for lunch with some great restaurants which specialize in fresh fish.
The nightlife is also great. Drive only 20 minutes to downtown Orlando where you will find some of the most hip nightclubs and bars in Florida. Enjoy a nice martini at Hue or dance those winter sorrows away at Dragon Room. You will leave with many memories and wanting to plan your next visit.
Champions Gate / Lake Wilson Preserve area
This home is very close to Disney, as well as all major attractions and major highways, yet very peaceful and secluded. You will find yourself close to Disney World, Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, Premium Outlet Shops for all you shoppers, Golf Resorts, and many more attractions!
When in Florida, food is a priority for most people (and why not!). You'll find lots of restaurants just a short drive away, and there's a huge Publix (mega grocery store) just a few minutes drive away. If you fancy ordering something in, there are loads of places that will deliver right to your door - details of these wil be at the home.
It is a premier destination for golf and recreational enthusiasts featuring residential homes, hotel accommodations, condominiums, luxury apartments, championship golf and a blend of retail amenities. Encompassing approximately 1,500 acres of Florida’s natural wetlands, ChampionsGate is home to two 18-hole Greg Norman designed golf courses as well as the world headquarters of the David Leadbetter Golf Academy. There are two courses, the National Course which is a classic layout of America's finest destinations and a pleasure to play with its majestic greens and long ranges, and the International Course which is unlike any other in the Orlando area, but one that will be familiar to those who have played the links courses of Scotland and Ireland. ChampionsGate is also headquarters for Meadowbrook Golf and Frankly Golf. Each year golfing greats like Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Vijay Singh tee off at ChampionsGate with their sons for the Office Depot Father/Son Golf Challenge, broadcast nationally on NBC.
How to get there
If flying from the UK, British Airways and Virgin have a great flight schedule, which means regular flights on almost everyday. Many of the UK's budget airlines also do this route, and there are also a number of US airlines, but this may mean your flight is not direct.
Orlando International airport is nearest to the property (about 30mins drive), but if you're watching you're budget, it's definitely worth looking at flights that go to Tampa, which is about 1hr30mins away. This route tends to be easier to book and costs are usually notably less.
Local transportation: To experience Florida at it's best, car hire is an absolute must - Alamo and Holiday Autos are usually the most cost effective. It's worth pre-booking the 'gold' package (or similar), which includes every possible insurance you may need, as well as giving you free additional drivers and a tank of free fuel. Car hire in Florida tends to be MUCH cheaper than (for example) in the UK, so book early and get the best rates available!
If you don't fancy hiring a car, then you can always use local taxis and the bus network. This does mean it's much harder to get around, so if there's any possibility, car hire should be your first option.
If you do decide to stay at my luxury home (believe me, you will not regret it!), I'll send you great instructions on how to get 'door to door from airport to the home - it's really easy and won't take long at all.

After returning from a 3 week break in your holiday home we just wanted to say what a fantastic time we had! Your home had everything we needed and more for a perfect holiday. We loved our view over the lake at the back and found it to be in a very peaceful and relaxing location.
Our children had great fun in the games room as well as in the pool. The fact that the Property Manager lived next door was very reassuring and we found him to be efficient and extremely helpful. The property itself also had a very good security system. An added bonus was its close proximity to the Interstate 4 (we were literally 10 minutes from the Disney World gates). We are already planning our next visit to your home!

Hello Mannie, Thank you for giving us the opportunity of renting your lovely home in Florida. Your home has everything anyone would need for their stay, from comfortable furniture and homely features such as plants etc, and plenty of bedroom space, the kitchen is very well equipped and I loved the open aspect of this. You have also been very thoughtful in supplying electrical appliances i.e. hair dryers, tongs etc., for all girly needs, no one has to take anything but their clothes with them. The outlook from the pool is lovely, and very relaxing. The Games Room is great. A very good feature for guests who need a rest from Disney Parks. Definitely a very memorable time. I would recommend your home to anyone, and have already done so to family. I will also let my friends know. I have visited the US several times but have only stayed in Hotels, which I will no longer do for future visits. Thanks again Mannie we had a great time.

My husband and I had a wonderful time in our home away from home. We stayed there in early May, 2008. It was an easy drive from the airport. Thank you for the great directions! The home was beautifully furnished and the accommodations were above our expectations. I have traveled around the world and have stayed at 5 star resorts. This home had all the modern amenities, convenient location, and a wonderful deck, pool, and jacuzzi. The game room was an added bonus. We got the 5 star treatment without the 5 star price or the hassles of a big resort/big crowds. The on-site property management company was a plus as well. It was like we had our own private concierge service. We really enjoyed the detailed information you provided on local restaurants, entertainment venues, & shopping in the area.

This villa has everything you need, and that much more. The kids loved the pool and games room... especially the air hockey table. I particularly enjoyed relaxing in front of the huge HD TV after a busy day-out in Orlando. And having wireless broadband allowed us to stay in touch with friends and family as well as access maps and visitor information when needed. The villa is conveniently located just off the I4 and therefore allows easy access to most of the major attractions, shopping and dining areas. Would definitely use again.
