This beautifully furnished two bedroom ski / holiday apartment has mountain views from the livingroom / kitchen and terrace as well as master bedroom. The second bedroom has two single beds and there is a sofa bed downstairs. It is suitable for both winter and summer use as it is conveniently situated just next to the Les Grands Montets cable car and Panda kids club, in the quaint Argentiere village close to shops, restaurants and ski rentals. The Grand Roc building has abundant parking and a ski locker is available for guests to use. Whether you are planning to go for gentle hikes, bunny slopes, play golf, do hard core mountaineering or off-piste skiing / ski touring, this is the perfect base for you and your friends and family.

The free Chamonix bus operates all winter so you don't really even need a car but can travel free to Chamonix town and the rest of the ski areas, which are plenty in the valley. Local restaurants in Argentiere are great but you if you want to do a night in Chamonix -ask us for restaurant recommendations!

Argentiere is one of the most authentic Alpine villages is the Chamonix Valley, and is the ideal location for accessing all the main ski areas including Les Grands Montets, Le Tour, Vallorcine, Brevent and Flegere. Certain times of the year you can even take the Helbronner cable car across the glacier to Italy...

The two cosy bedrooms, a double (with mountain view) and a twin are upstairs with the bathroom (shower/bath).

Downstairs fully functional open plan kitchen, dining/living area and balcony -all overlooking the majestic mountains-, as well as a separate toilet and “wet boots area”. Ski locker and free parking are also available.

The two bedrooms sleep total 4 people. Sofa-bed in the living area sleeps 1.

The apartment is furnished for maximum comfort and has a selection of books, useful maps, games and an iPod stand with speakers and a TV/DVD. The interior is decorated in a modern yet cozy country style.

There is free wi-fi available in the apartment complex office in the evenings most days (if you don't feel like using the free wi-fi in the various local bars and restaurants near-by...!).

A variety of shops, restaurants and ski / equipment / bike rental shops are just minutes walk from the apartment.

The famous Les Grands Montets ski area and lifts are next to the Grand Roc apartments, hence offering a very easy access to the best slopes in the Alps!

Free and frequent ski buses operate the area in the winter season, and they stop right outside the apartments. Local trains operate between the villages (Including Argentiere) and Chamonix town. The apartment is just 2 minutes from Argentiere train station.

The Chamonix Valley is famous for its unbeatable range of winter and summer sports and all mountain activities. There is something for everyone, from gentle hiking trails and bunny slopes perfect for beginners and children, to advanced off-piste skiing and rock- or Alpine climbing routes for the more hard-core extreme sports lovers.

Fantastic local companies organize different courses, experienced mountain guides and ski instructors as well as all equipment hire to help you get the most of your holiday.

Famous Chamonix-Experience just 2 minutes walk away offers mountain guides, tours, maps, courses and information. Tourist information, cash machine, train station and all services can be found in the centre of Argentiere just minutes from the apartment.

It is not necessary to have a car, but it does make you a lot more independent and enables you to explore the valley further, especially recommended for a longer stay.

The building has a lift, but there are stairs in the two-level apartment. Both bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. hence not suitable for persons who find climbing stairs challenging!

"stunning views and good location, good value in June"

We had a great week in a decent apartment with good mattresses, and at the beginning of June it was really good value. The location is excellent, close to bus, train, cable car station, walks, bakers, small supermarket, bars, restaurants etc. we got around happily without a car. Make sure you pick up a Carte d'Hote guest card from the tourist office: only cost 2 euros each and give free bus and trains in Chamonix valley.Unbroken view of mountains from the living room. Generally well equipped and comforting and the owner is helpful (although a few emails seemed to go astray between here and Australia). There were a few niggles which prevent me giving full marks: linen has to be hired (quite pricey) and is sheets, not duvet covers, hence leaving you to make your own beds and use the duvet as blankets. There's something a bit off putting about a duvet without a cover. The bathroom is a bit dated, though clean and plenty of hot water. Shower is good, bath small but deep. A washing machine was advertised but was not working, and there were a few small maintenance issues such as a cracked cafetiere and a small crack in kitchen cupboard glazing which are almost inevitable when there is a long distance owner. I have reported this and the owner intends to fix them. Also there was no wifi in the apartment nor balcony furniture, so the advert is slightly misleading in that respect. The decor of the common areas (entrance corridors) is very dingy, but the apartment itself is bright and cheerful. It has electric heaters and single glazing; fine in June, but I can't help but wonder how warm it is in the ski season. Overall, it's not quite perfect but a good base in a lovely spot.

"Great apartment and the perfect location for catching the first lift!"

Only a few minutes walk from the Grand Montets Cable Car Station. So close we came back for lunch most days. Shops, bars etc. are a similar distance in the other direction. Apartment is compact but nicely decorated and comfortable. Excellent shower! Balcony looks out onto the Pierre a Ric piste and Aiguille du Chardonnet. Owner and agency staff whom we collected the keys from were very helpful and nice to deal with. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

"Cosy & beautiful apartment at the perfect location – what more to ask?"

I spent three nights at Grand Roc with my mate in early March 2012. We hadn't been to Chamonix or Argentiere before and the atmosphere of Argentiere absolutely enchanted us. The apartment was very cosy to spend evenings after long days of skiing and its' location just a short walk from ski lifts was a lifesaver. Skiing was great – sun shining every day and pistes well groomed :) Restaurants nearby offered all you could ask for a skiing holiday – atmospheric dining and tasty food. Nice bars provided all the after ski that we needed.
Apartment has perfect view to mountains from large windows and balcony. It was a bliss to wake up in a such place.
We were given very detailed instructions of everything at the apartment and things really worked according to those instructions. Like using laundry machine, picking up keys or using the ski lockers. Apartment had all the equipment you could ask for. If you want to cook a proper diner at apartment, I'd guess you'll find everything there.

I warmly recommend this apartment to everyone! (Except for people with disabilities who will find it hard to climb the stairs – for the rest of us having bedrooms upstairs is a cool addition.)

"Lovelly apartment and good location in Argentiere!"

The place has a good location since is near the Argentiere slopes, there is supermarket, restaurants, bus stop and train station nearby. The apartment provides all the necessary items for a good stay.
