Home description
The chalet with its terrace and large private garden is an ideal base for a family holiday. Of traditional construction and in a peaceful and tranquit setting, it has electric heating and a log fire in the seating area with LCD TV, DVD and stereo.
The dining area has french doors to the terrace and garden where you can enjoy the stunning views both winter and summer. There is a shower room and wc on the ground floor and three bedrooms (1 twin, 2 double) and bathroom on the first floor. The bathroom has jacuzzi bath and heated towel rail.
The chalet is just 5 minutes drive from the centre of Les Houches with Bellevue cable car and ski lifts, ski hire, ski school, local shopping, bars and restaurants and only 10 minutes drive from the vibrant centre of the historic town of Chamonix.
A variety of other ski resorts are easily accessible for a day's skiing with Courmayeur 30 minutes drive via the Mont Blanc Tunnel.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region
The Haute-Savoie region borders Switzerland to the north, with Geneva being the closest major town. To the east Haute-Savoie borders Italy and to the west the department of Ain. The south borders Savoie.
Geneva is one hour easy driving to Les Houches. Mont Blanc and Lake Annecy, the second largest lake in France, are located in Haute-Savoie. The pretty town of Annecy with its lake is a popular holiday destination. The town of Évian-les-Bains on the shore of Lake Geneva is world famous for its mineral water, Evian.
Chamonix / Les Houches area
The Chamonix Valley, lying at the foot of europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc, has a number of very attractive traditional towns and villages. Les Houches, only 10 minutes drive from Chamonix, is a traditional Haute Savoie village just a few minutes off the main motorway from Geneva. It offers a wide range of activities for all the family and local shops provide a range of regional products. The Kandahar World Cup ski race ends in the village.
Chamonix is the main town in the valley and has a vibrant and lively centre with bars, restaurants and shops. The spectacular mountain range surrounding the towns charming narrow streets and traditional alpine architecture give it a unique and distinctive quality.
A Mecca for sports enthusiasts of all ages, the first Winter Olympic Games were held here in 1924. Skiing and mountaineering have been the main economy of Chamonix for many years with the Vallée Blanche giving a memorable excursion through glaciers and magnificent scenery. (Experts only!)
Summer in the valley offers a variety of activities to enjoy the stunning surroundings. As well as walking, hiking and mountain biking through spectacular mountain scenery the lakes in the area provide swimming and watersports. Tennis and golf are also close at hand along with mountain museums giving an historic account of the area.
