The men’s world cup downhill race –Le Kandahar – takes place close-by each year. The apartment is a perfect base for skiing, hiking, mountain biking, walking or just relaxing in the beautiful scenery.
The accommodation has been finished to a high standard and the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms are all comfortable and well equipped. The terrace has excellent views and is accessed from large patio doors from the main bedroom and the living area. The lounge has a comfortable sofa and a TV, CD and DVD all-in-one player. The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region
The Rhone Alps sit on the Eastern side of France and this area specifically borders Italy, via the famous Mont Blanc tunnel and Switzerland both accessible by car, train or bus within 30 minutes. Other places of interest which can be reached within easy driving distance for day trips are Annecy, Geneva, Evian and Gruyere.
Chamonix / Les Houches area
Chamonix is the hub of this world famous ski and alpine area, situated in the north west of the Alps 15km from both the Italian and Swiss borders. Mont Blanc (4808m) and its chain of peaks dominate the valley. Chamonix is probably best known as the skiing and alpine capital of the world. As a destination it has a reputation for the extreme and this, whilst undoubtedly true, can mask a wide array of other sporting and leisure activities that can be enjoyed here. Chamonix town has a cosmopolitan feel and a vast selection of restaurants and shops.
The town is at the foot of Mont-Blanc and following introduction of skiing in the early 1900s Chamonix hosted the first winter Olympic Games in 1924.
