Bellevue apartment is superbly located approximately 100m from the Bellevue cablecar and chairlift which give direct access to the Les Houches ski area. In the other direction it is 8-10 minutes' walk to the Prarion gondola. It is possible to ski back on either black or blue runs to within 50 metres of the apartment. The ski bus stops at the Bellevue lift and runs regularly to the Prarion (2mins), Chamonix (10-15 mins) and Les Grands Montets/Argentiere (20 minutes).
The apartment is comfortably furnished with quality fittings and includes one double and one twin bedroom, both with comfortable beds and spacious wardrobes. In the living/dining room there is a large sofa and chair (which easily converts into a comfortable bed), fully equipped fitted kitchen and solid wooden dining furniture. From the living room, French doors open out onto a large, south west facing, sunny terrace with bistro furniture. The bathroom has a bath with Grohe shower over and there is a separate toilet. The apartment has a private ski locker in the entrance to the chalet and a private parking space in the garage beneath the building.
Also within 2 minutes' walk of the apartment are ski hire shops and ski school office as well as some excellent restaurants, shops and a patisserie for breakfast croissants! For a more extensive shop, the nearest supermarket is approximately 8-10 minutes' walk.

The single beds are 90cm wide and are suitable for adults as well as children. All beds have thick duvets and comfortable mattresses.
There is a large fitted wardrobe in each bedroom (with plenty of hangers in each).
The bathroom has a bath with Grohe power shower over.

The apartment has French doors which open out onto a large terrace at raised ground floor level with bistro style table and chairs.
It also has a private ski locker located in the entrance to the chalet and covered parking in a private underground garage which can be accessed from within the building or by remote control from outside.

Conditions
A security deposit of £200 is required and is returned to you within 10 days of the end of your stay, upon satisfactory inspection of the apartment. ( In the unlikely event of any damage to the apartment, breakages or need for excessive cleaning, the cost would be deducted from the deposit.)
If a booking is made prior to 8 weeks of the letting, a rental deposit of 25% of the rental sum is required. The remaining balance of the rental sum and the security deposit of £200 are then due 8 weeks prior to the letting.
If a booking is made within 8 weeks of the letting the whole of the rental payment is to be forwarded, together with the security deposit of £200.
If you cancel your booking, the following conditions apply:
Cancellation 57 days or more before arrival date - the rental deposit would be forfeited.
Cancellation 29-56 days before arrival date - 50% of rental sum + security deposit refunded.
Cancellation 15-28 days before arrival date - 25% of rental sum + security deposit refunded.
Cancellation 0 - 14 days before arrival date - 10% of rental sum + security deposit refunded.
We may refund the rental sum if we are able to re-let the apartment for the period in question.
The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region


There are many other resorts and towns worth visiting in the area.
Included in the Mont Blanc lift pass is the Italian resort of Courmayeur, approximately 30 minutes' drive from Les Houches (through the Mont Blanc tunnel). Courmayeur makes for a great day trip with its excellent skiing, good mountain restaurants and up-market little town with cobbled streets full of cafes and chic shops.
The resorts of Megeve, St. Gervais and Morzine are also easily accessible for day trips, as is the picturesque old town of Annecy and the city of Geneva.
The Chamonix / Les Houches area
Les Houches is a peaceful, self-contained village lying at the foot of Mont Blanc and surrounded by stunning scenery. It has a beautiful ski area characterized by varied, tree-lined slopes surrounded by majestic peaks. It is ideal for families and mixed ability groups with 21 runs ranging from an easy green run just at the top of the Bellevue cable car to the challenging black 'verte', the men's worldcup downhill run where the famous 'Kandahar' race takes place in January. There is a variety of good mountain restaurants serving savoyarde -style food with fantastic views. (More information on restaurants, bars and local attractions can be found in the apartment).
In summer, Les Houches is the starting point for many hiking and mountain-biking trails, or even for more gentle walks from the top of the Bellevue cable car with stunning views over to the snow-capped Mont Blanc.
There is a fishing lake and tennis courts within 8-10 mins walk of the apartment and a huge variety of activities within a short drive including white-water rafting and rock climbing.
Chamonix is a large, lively, cosmopolitan town approximately 3 miles from Les Houches. While it is a famous skiing and mountaineering destination, it has still retained its traditional French feel. Chamonix offers an abundance of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, up-market shops and all kinds of sporting possibilities. It also has a bowling alley and a large sports centre with an excellent swimming pool with high twisting water slide for kids.
Chamonix and Argentiere, which lies a little further along the valley, offer more challenging skiing possibilities including extreme off-piste challenges. Chamonix (the Aiguille de Midi cablecar) is also the starting point for the famous 27 km descent known as the Vallee Blanche. The ski bus (free with lift pass) runs regularly between Les Houches and the other areas in the Chamonix valley.

* Les Houches is an easy 1 hour drive from Geneva airport and 2 hours from Grenoble, Lyon and Turin airports
* Cheap flights are available with easyjet.com or bmibaby.com
* All the major car hire companies are represented at the airports - or try holidayautos.co.uk
(If you hire a car from Geneva airport, do so from the SWISS side - the journey from there is much simpler.)
* Driving from the UK - Calais to Les Houches by motorway is a straightforward drive and takes approximately 9 hours. Please be aware that if you are driving in the alps in winter, snow chains are a legal requirement.
* Several door-to-door airport transfer services operate between Les Houches and Geneva airport. geneva-chamonix-transfers.com and cham-van.com charge approximately 40 euros per person 1 way.
It is not essential to have a car in Les Houches but it is very convenient if you wish to explore the variety of ski areas in the Chamonix valley.
