This three bedroom apartment with secure underground garage is situated in a small prestigeous block with dramatic views over Chamonix town to Le Brevent yet is only 10 minutes walk to Place Belmat right in the centre of town. The Aiguille du Midi cable car is 5 minutes walk and Les Planards ski area with snow cannons guaranteeing winter snow cover is only 10 minutes

The first successful ascent of Mont Blanc was achieved in 1786 and Chamonix's fame as the centre of winter activities has grown ever since. In 1924 the first Winter Olympic Games came to Chamonix and the town has developed over the years with a growing network of cable cars including the awesome Aigulle du Midi (The highest cable car in the world ), the impressive Montenvers railway climbing up to the Mer de Glace and much more. Now classified as a World Heritage Site, this alpine capital, surrounded by spectacular scenery at the foot of Mont Blanc, offers one of the most challenging ski areas in the world.


Chamonix / Chamonix Town Centre area

Chamonix is a bustling town with plenty of hotels and restaurants, visitors all year round and a lively Saterday market. Cobbled streets, squares and traditional buildings add to the atmosphere. If you lean over the bridge in the centre you may some white water rafters sweep by. Most of the day and evenings too, the town square and pavement cafes are crowded with visitors taking in the view of Mont Blanc and the glacier. Chamonix shops offer everything from serious sports clothing and equipment to a great variety of fashion shops, supermarkets and hardware stores.
There are many bars around the centre, some with musuc and some open late. There are plenty of reastaurants to suit all pockets and tastes, you will be very unlucky to get a meal which isn't excellent value. You might want to try one of the hotel restaurants -you will be probably be served a superb meal at a surprisingly reasonable cost.


How to get there

Fly- to Geneva with choice of several airlines including budget airline.
Transfer by car- hire on Swiss side is most economical as French hires are charged £30 road tax.
Transfer by Mini-bus- expensive for small parties but door to door convenience.
Bus- service about 2 hours to Chamonix station which is five minutes walk from the apartment.

The apartment is finished to a luxurious alpine standard with top of the range traditional wooden furniture. Large patio doors leading on to the balcony and windows overlook the superb Chamonix valley.
The lounge has ample seating with a 2 metre long settee and large dining table extending to 6 places. The Freesat satellite TV plus a DVD player provide a wide variety of programmes.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a four ring halogen hob, microwave oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and plenty of cupboard space.
Two bedrooms each have 2 single beds and a fitted wardrobe. The third bedroom/bunkroom is suitable for chilren or teenagers but does have two full size bunk beds plus wardrobe and can be used by adults not needing a lot of space.
The bathroom is fully equipped with a toilet, bath and shower over and large wash hand basin set in a vanity unit. There is an separate toilet in the apartment with basin and mirror.
The hall has storage cupboard with clothes hanging space. Iron and board are provided

Conditions

Rates quoted are per week for the whole apartment. A 40% deposit will be required to secure your booking. Once we have received the deposit we will send you confirmation of your accommodation by email, fax or post. We will reserve the accommodation for 48 hours -this option will expire if we do not receive the deposit. The balance of your holiday is due no later than two months prior to departure. If the booking is made less than 2 months prior to departure, then the total cost is payable immediately. Once we have received the full balance we will send you confirmation.
