Home of the highest peaks of the alps and of a lot of local food and wine specialities this is the ideal region for both summer, winter but of course also all the in-between season.
The climate offers the best of each season, and for whom it is to warm there is always the option to take one of the cable cars or trains up onto the glaciers ;)
The Chamonix / Les Praz area
The Chamonix Valley is the Mekka of skiing and alpinism with in addition a lot of amazing outdoor and indoor activities for everyone.
The town is cute but offers shopping and entertainment which is comparable to big cities.

We were a group of 10 people and spent a fabulous time over New Year's in this beautiful chalet. With 3 double bed rooms on the first floor, 1 on the ground floor and 1 in the basement, this chalet is suitable for 10 people (small children's bed available on top). The interior is spacious and the living room disposes of a large dining table with enough places for all guests. The interior design is modern with high quality furniture and technical equipment such as TV, DVD player, stereo. Likewise, the kitchen is fully equipped to cater for a group of 10 and has all the necessary equipment (incl. dishwasher, oven, microwave, coffee machine, fridge/freezer). In addition, you will find a laundry machine in the basement, as well as a large "play room" suitable for Wii / playing children. A definite highlight is the hot jacuzzi outside, situated behind the chalet in the surrounding garden area. There is also a garage available for one car, and more parking space for additional cars in front of the chalet / garage. The city center of Chamonix and ski lifts are approximately 10-15 mins away by car. Booking was fast and uncomplicated, and so was any contact with the owner / concierge, who have been very friendly, responsive and helpful. I am definitely recommending this chalet to anyone who likes to spend a great time in the mountains, and we are looking very much forward to coming back soon. "Truely luxurious chalet. The pictures do not do justice to this spacious and beautifully furnished home. Easy access to a choice of ski lifts with hundreds of pistes to choose from with the best snow record in the alpes. Freshly brewed coffe and a great jacuzzi are added bonuses. We had a great great stay with our family of 7 and only used half the place. Honestly recommended for anyone looking for a truely luxurious stay."
