About the home

Chalet Telemark is located in the quiet and beautiful area of Taconnaz/les Houches in the Chamonix Valley. This peaceful retreat has a private garden with stunning views of the entire valley, the Mont Blanc massif and the town of Chamonix. The quiet neighborhood is more or less car free and therefore very family friendly. You will find hiking trails around the corner and in the summer a tennis court freely available a stone’s throw away. Big fields behind the house are perfect for sledding and snow games. This charming two-story chalet offers a ground floor living area with wood burner, open kitchen area and a big outdoor wooden deck (30m2). The 3 bedrooms are situated on the top floor, one with double bed and shower and the other two bedrooms, one with a sink, sleep 2 persons in each (a sofa bed in the downstairs living area fits 2 more persons if needed). Car is highly recommended, private outdoor parking. The closest ski area is Les Houches (family friendly), about 5 minutes away by car. Chamonix Town and the ski area Brévent/Flégère is about 7 minutes away by car. Grand Montets 20 minutes and Le Tour 25 minutes away.

The owners of Chalet Telemark lives next door which is very convenient if you need help during your holiday stay. The owners are more than happy to provide you with information about the area, skiing, restaurants and other questions.

Conditions

A booking fee of 25% of the price has to be paid when booked. The rest of the rental amount is paid 2 weeks before arrival. A deposit of 400€ is obligatory at arrival.

Haute-Savoie is a French department in the Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France. It borders both Swiitzerland and Italy. The capital is Annecy. The Chamonix / Taconnaz area

Situated near the massive peaks of the Aiguilles Rouges, Chamonix shares the summit of Mont Blanc with its neighboring commune of Courmayeur in Italy, and owns the title of highest commune in France. The commune is well known and loved by skiers and by mountain enthusiasts of all types. Mont Blanc, at a height of 4,810 metres, is the third most visited natural site in the world. With an area of 245 square kilometres, Chamonix is the fourth largest commune in mainland France.

“Perfect 'white Christmas'” Our family decided to rent Chalet Telemark for our first 'white Christmas' in Europe, and couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The owners were really helpful throughout our stay, and provided us with detailed information about the area. The chalet is located just outside Les Houches, and as it's quite high up on the mountain a car is essential. However, if you're happy to take a 15 minute stroll down (and back up!) there are regular bus services between the towns at the bottom of the road.
