About the home

Surrounded by woodland, with magnificent views of the Dru, Aiguille du Midi and Mont Blanc and immediately adjacent to the 18 hole Chamonix golf course, the chalet is situated in the beautiful traditional village of Les Praz de Chamonix, just two kilometers from Chamonix itself. The ski bus, serving all of the resorts in the Chamonix valley (Le Tour, Argentiere, Flegere and Chamonix) stops at the end of the lane and the nearest ski lift station is Flegere at just a minute's drive away (approx. 400 metres). The Mont Blanc Express train serves the length of the valley stopping at the main points of interest all year round and there are two stations within walking distance of the chalet. In the summer, many of the most spectacular walks begin from the village. There are a variety of restaurants within walking distance ranging from friendly pizzeria to typical Savoyarde fare or French haute cuisine, and an apres-ski bar, ski rental shops and a village store selling bread daily.

The accommodation has been arranged over two floors with three bedrooms, two bathrooms (1 a large luxury family bathroom and another en-suite), a separate WC, sauna, utility and gym area on the ground floor.

The first floor has a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area with open fire and leading out to a large South facing balcony. There is another WC and two further bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms. There is a small office area with WiFi Internet and a state of the art home cinema system with large drop down screen and projector, Satellite TV , DVD and music system.

Great for families and singles alike, a great deal of thought has gone into providing luxury features to make your holiday both comfortable and entertaining. The gym area has a water rower and upright bicycle with TV/DVD player. The Sauna can take three people comfortably and there's a laundry area and plenty of drying space for wet ski clothes.

The home cinema system includes a large drop down screen with projector and includes both Blue-ray and DVD play with Satellite TV (full service) and surround sound. Two of the bedrooms also have TV/DVD systems.

The large south facing balcony with stunning views has a small dining area and the terrace below with the hot tub (5 person) also has a large dining table and chairs during the summer months.

Outside there is a large garden with South facing terrace and hot tub. There is covered parking, a large ski locker and boot drying room.

All our guests receive a welcome pack with sufficient provisions for aperitifs and drinks on you first evening and your first breakfast, our concierge will pass by by appointment at the start of the holiday to talk through the particulars of the chalet and local information.

Evening baby sitting and advance bookings of restaurants can be arranged.

We can help with ski hire and transfers from Geneva airport upon request.

Conditions

Changeover days are Sunday to Sunday. At off-peak times we can be flexible with this.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

Haute Savoie has a host of interesting locations, Chamonix and Mont Blanc being one of the most popular. You can take advantage of skiing a day in Cormeyeur, Italy by using the tunnel nearby. St Gervais Les Bains (20 mins drive) has hot springs and a spaand the Mont Blanc tramway can be taken from this point to view the Mer de Glace via Les Houches. The city of Annecy (1hr 20) with its beautiful lakeside setting and medieval architecture is well worth a visit and Geneva is just an hour away.

The Chamonix / Les Praz area

Chamonix offers a multitude of slopes for all levels, each ski area having its own merit. Tremendously long slopes, skiing through the trees, freeride and off-piste, beginners slopes : an infinite number of possibilities for snowriders and mountain lovers alike. Nearest to the chalet is Brévent / Flégère (1030 m - 2525 m) just 400 metres from the chalet and has the most stunning panoramic skiing, the Grands Montets (1235 m - 3300 m) less than 10 minutes using the ski bus, has wide open spaces and Le Domaine de Balme (1453 m - 2270 m) is a twenty minute ski bus ride and is in the very heart of nature.

There are many ski guides working in the area and if you are keen to take on a challenge, experience skiing the Vallee Blanche or take on ice-climbing and more, we can put you in touch with the very best.

Chamonix itself has a lot to offer the whole family all year round with an ice-rink, swimming pool, white water sports, climbing, hiking and mountain biking. Many world class competitions take place in the valley. We'll let you know what's on during your stay.

In the summer you can take advantage of the chalet being adjacent to the world class Chamonix Golf Course and enjoy the easy access to many spectacular hikes and the river nearby.

By air - Geneva International airport is just 1 hours drive away and there are many scheduled flights every day from most UK airports, including Easyjet, British Airways, Ryanair, Swissair, Air France. If not wishing to hire a car, there are many transfer companies from the airport directly to the chalet.

By road - There are many ferry companies serving all major ports from the U.K. These include P & O Ferries, Seafrance and Brittany Ferries. As an indication of the journey time by road from Calais, allow 8 - 10 hours.

By rail - it is possible in peak winter season to reach St Gervais les Bains (20 mins from Chamonix) by rail and there are connections at other times of year via Paris to the same or Geneva.
