skichamonixvalley is a very high quality 2 bedroom, first floor apartment which sleeps up to 6. It is situated at the foot of the main ski-lift in Les Houches, in a development by the well renowned French developer MGM and it benefits from two underground parking spaces and a ski-locker.
The apartment is furnished to a very high standard in a traditional Alpine-style. The living area has a pull-out double sofa-bed and has a Sony LCD flat-screen TV with UK Freeview and DVD player. There is an iPod dock speaker-system compatible with all generations of iPod to enable you to enjoy your own music and WiFi internet access for your laptop. Sliding windows open onto a beautiful wood-decked balcony providing views over the main ski area of Les Houches.
The main bedroom has a sumptuous double bed whilst the second bedroom has bunk-beds.
The kitchen area is well equipped and includes a fridge-freezer, microwave, dish-washer, oven with hob and a six-place dining table.
The bathroom includes a Grohe shower over the bath and enjoys the benefit of a built-in washing-machine with tumble-drier. There is also a large heated towel rail.
There is a separate WC and a closet in which to hang up jackets and store shoes.

The Chamonix valley has been a Mecca for extreme skiers and mountaineers since the 19th Century and was host to the first winter Olympics in 1924. Set at the foot of Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc makes an impressive back-drop for the many winter and summer activities available in the Chamonix Valley
The Chamonix / Les Houches area
The town of Chamonix Mont Blanc is 1042m (3,396 ft) above sea level at the foot of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Western Europe at 4807m (15,770 ft).
Chamonix is at the heart of the French Alps, adjacent to Mont Dolent where the French, Swiss and Italian borders meet.
It has become the World’s centre of gravity for outdoor extreme activities including ski-touring, mountaineering, climbing, hiking, biking and paragliding and is only minutes from Les Houches by the ski bus which stops immediately outside the 'Le Kandahar' apartment block.
The scenery is stunning and creates a fabulous location to relax, enjoy mountain walks and soak up french village life.

Less than an hour by car from Geneva, Les Houches is easily accessible by road, rail and air.
Road:
The road from Geneva Airport is fast and simple. The A40 and subsequently the N205 delivers you to Les Houches within an hour. Les Houches is equally accessible from Italy via the Mont Blanc Tunnel.
Rail:
Travel to Les Houches station, with one change at St Gervais (from France), or at Martigny (from Switzerland). There are about 10 trains per day between St Gervais and Les Houches: details are available from www.sncf.co.uk. Taxis are available from the station (tel. +33 450 54 41 76 or +33 450 54 41 09).
Air:
A number of low-cost airlines operate regular services into Geneva from regional and hub airports throughout the UK.

Lovely apartment. Brilliant spot just opposite the ski lift. The town was a little quiet in the evening at this end of town. Good facilities. |

The appartment could not be better suited for small groups and families. Literally opposite the ski lift and within walking distance to great shops and restaurants you will not want to stay anywhere else. Unfortunately, my father broke his ribs on the 2nd day but was more than happy staying in the appartment with the Wifi access, television and dvd player! Due to the proximity of the appartment to the slopes he was also able to meet us for lunch. The design is contemporary however, there is still a cosy feeling-just what you want after a hard day on the slopes! Everything we needed was supplied and the cleanliness was impeccable. We went to Chamonix on 3 separate occasions (mainly to go to the doctors for the broken ribs!) and found that the bus was extremely easy and quick with the bus stop again directly outside the front door and dropping us in the centre of Chamonix town. Planning on revisiting this year-perhaps with a car so we can explore the area further! |

We used the apartment for ski holidays 2 years running , its a fantastic place , well equiped , with secure undergroound parking and a lift to make moving your gear easier. The ski locker was very useful and being located so close to the ski lift made skiing back for lunch so easy. The kids loved it and it was great to sit on the balcony with a cold beer after a day skiing looking up at Mont Blanc. |

The apartment is available for rental year-round - please contact the owners for details of spring and summer rental tarrifs. Rates are based on a 1 week stay arriving on Saturday afternoon and departing the following Saturday morning. There is some limited scope for flexibility on arrival and departure days but not at peak season. Depending on availability, short stays are possible; contact the owners for details. Rates include cleaning of the apartment at the end of your stay and linen. Use of the washer/dryer incurs a small extra charge. LATE AVAILABILITY PRICES available on enquiry.
