Chamlodge Chalet is a characteristic good quality Savoyard style Chalet built originally in 1974 and with an extension added in the late 80's.
The Chalet of 320 square meters is built on three levels and it is divided into 5 interconnected chalet apartments of three stars rating offering a total of 8 bedrooms, 5 lounges/dining rooms/kitchens and 5 bathrooms.
Each chalet apartment can host from a minimum of 4 to 5 guests to a maximum of 12 guests and all together they can accommodate a total of 26 guests. All the chalet apartments are fully equipped for a self-catering stay.
On the ground floor there is a common area with a dedicated PC internet point (WiFi internet is also available throughout the chalet), a washing machine, an iron and an iron board, a rack for storing skis and shelves for leaving ski boots and mountain equipment.
The Chalet is ideal for accommodating either the smaller separate groups of guests or for the larger groups who are looking for inter-connected apartments or even for the entire chalet on a sole use and on self-catering basis. The two chalet apartments on both the first and second floor can easily be joined by opening a communicating door into one large apartment to accommodate a group of up to 12 guests.
The Chalet was completely refurbished during summer 2006. All the internal walls and ceilings have been paneled with fine pine wood and the floors have been re-tiled. All the bathrooms and kitchens have also been completely refitted and a brand new central heating system has been installed on the ground floor.
The Chalet is situated in the village of Les Houches, just four miles from the town of Chamonix Mont-Blanc. It is set in stunning surroundings in a quite area of the village and enjoys the breathtaking views of the Mont-Blanc massif.
The Chalet is only 200 meters from the bus stop, both for the Chamonix valley bus and the Geneva bus which connects to Geneva center and its airport, 400 meters from the largest supermarket in the valley, 600 meters from the center of the village and just a short walk from a number of good restaurants, bars and shops and other village facilities.

The Rhone/French Alps region
The Chamonix Valley is situated in the Haute Savoie region, a department in the Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France, bordering both Switzerland and Italy. Its capital is Annecy.
To the north is Lake Geneva and Switzerland; to the south and southeast are the Mont Blanc and Aravis mountain ranges.
The French entrance to the Mont Blanc Tunnel to Italy is in Haute-Savoie.
It is noted for winter sports; the first Winter Olympic Games were held at Chamonix in 1924.
Haute-Savoie comprises 4 arrondissements, divided into 294 communes and 35 cantons. To the north, it borders the Swiss Canton of Geneva and Lake Geneva; to the east the Swiss Canton of Valais and Italy's Aosta Valley; to the west the French department of Ain, and to the south the department of Savoie.
Haute-Savoie has the largest range of elevations of all the departments in France; the lowest point is 250 metres (820 ft) in the Rhone River Valley, and the highest Mont Blanc at 4,810.40 metres (15,782.2 ft). Some of the world's best-known ski resorts are in Haute-Savoie.
The terrain of the department includes the Alpine Mont Blanc Range; the French Prealps of the Aravis Range, the Chablais, Bornes and Bauges Alps; and the peneplains of Genevois haut-savoyard and Albanais (known collectively as L'Avant-pays savoyard).
Its mountainous terrain makes mountain passes important to trade and economic life. Some of the most important are the Col de la Forclaz (which connects Chamonix to the Canton of Valais) and the Mont Blanc Tunnel, linking Chamonix to Courmayeur in the Aosta Valley.
Chamonix is famous for its spectacular cable car up to the Aiguille du Midi 3,842 m (12,605 ft). Constructed in 1955, it was then the highest cable car in the world. Together with a cable car system going up to the Pointe Helbronner 3,462 m (11,358 ft) from Entréves in the Aosta Valley (Italy) it is possible to cross the entire Mont Blanc massif by cable car (the latter is only open during the summer).
In the summer months Chamonix is a mecca for alpine mountaineers, drawn to the area by challenges like the north, west and south-west faces of the Dru, the Frendo Spur on the Aiguille du Midi, the north face of the Grandes Jorasses and the massive face climbs on the south side of Mont Blanc. Traversing the Alps on the GR 5 footpath or more accessible challenges like reaching the summit of Mont Blanc (by a number of possible routes) are also popular.
Chamonix is also a destination for mountain bikers. Besides the obvious lift-assisted areas for Freeriders there are hundreds of kilometres of challenging hidden singletrack trails – often only found with the help of guides.
