Chamois Blanc 710 is a 7th floor apartment that has been completely refurbished and provides comfortable and stylish accommodation for up to 4 people. The entrance opens into a small hallway with storage and the other rooms leading off. The bathroom has a washing machine and there is a separate WC. The kitchen is fully fitted and looks into the living area which has a dining table for 4. The sofa provides 2 single beds. Satellite TV (UK Freeview) provides a range of UK channels and there is free WIFI. Folding doors can be opened between this area and the double bedroom to create a greater sense of space. The windows look over peaceful gardens and give fantastic views up the Chamonix Valley towards Argentière and le Tour.

The apartment has a ski locker in the basement of the building and there is access to the Chamonix Sud underground car park where there is a space for guest use.

The Rhône-Alpes region

Chamois Blanc 710 is situated just to the south-west of Chamonix town centre. It is 450 metres from the main shopping street, Rue Docteur Paccard (4 minutes by foot), but many amenities are in the immediate vicinity. The nearest supermarket is Spar (main season only) in the square in Chamonix Sud (200 metres away). There are several bars within a minutes' walk, including the Jekyll, Munster and Monkey with restaurants including the Jekyll again, l'Impossible and several along Avenue de l'Aiguille du Midi.

For access to the slopes, there isn't really anywhere more convenient as it is right opposite the main bus stop. The nearest ski area is Brevent, 2 minutes by bus. Chamois Blanc is also no more than 2 minutes' walk to the Aiguille du Midi cable car, giving access to the infamous Vallee Blanche.

Chamonix Town Centre

Skiing and snowboarding: Chamonix is one of the world's most famous ski areas, having hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels are well-served in a variety of differing areas around Chamonix, including Brevent, Flegere, the famous Grands Montets and Domaine du Balme. The Mont Blanc pass also covers nearby areas including Les Houches, St Gervais, Megeve, Courmayeur and Les Contamines, all within an easy drive. Slightly further afield, but within an hour's drive are Verbier, La Thuile, Flaine and Les Carroz. Despite its reputation as an area for experts only, there are plenty of green, blue and red runs to satisfy beginners and intermediates alike. For the more experienced, Chamonix has miles and miles of adventurous off-piste, including the famous Vallee Blanche, an 18 km experience from the Aiguille du Midi down to the town.

Summer and the rest of the year: With the draw of Europe's premier natural attraction, Mont Blanc, Chamonix never sleeps. Whether it's simply to soak up the stunning scenery or get the adrenaline pumping, there is plenty for everybody to do all year round. There are a wide variety of marked trails for hiking and trekking; well-maintained bolted routes for rock-climbing; limitless mountaineering opportunities including Mont Blanc itself; an ever-expanding network of mountain bike trails; some of the most consistent thermals for superb paragliding; raging white water rapids for rafting and hydro speeding; canyoning and abseiling down the spectacular valley gorges; golf at the Trent Jones Sr designed 18 hole course in Chamonix, as well as many other top quality courses nearby; the sports centre has an indoor and outdoor 50 m swimming pool and a large grassed sunbathing area, water slides, numerous tennis courts, gym, spa, jacuzzi, the list goes on.

"Excellent value and location"

My wife and I rented this apartment earlier in the month and were delighted with the value.
The owner has clearly redecorated since the last review! The fridge was working and the sofas were spotless.
The location is excellent. It is opposite the main bus stop and just minutes walk from the main street. We certainly recommend it as a great winter base!

"Very shabby"

On arrival to Chamonix we was asked to call the representative who would meet us at the apartment complex to hand over the keys, it took 2 hours to get a response from the contact numbers. The apartment was not as described, the bathroom light which had fallen off the wall was taped up with masking tape, the freezer door was broken and was held closed by placing a piece of cardboard in the side, staining to furnishings and the apartment could have done with a good clean, under the bed was disgusting. Overall very much in need of some care.

It's always disappointing to receive a poor review and accept the criticism on the clean and the fridge door/light/sofa covers. Unfortunately, it's not always possible to rectify problems mid-season when we only have a few hours to changeover, particularly when parts have to be ordered, but we do what we can. However, we are left a little bemused as to why the guest claims to have taken 2 hours to contact us, we are contactable 24/7 and the office is literally just round the corner. The other claim is that the apartment is not as described, in relation to there not being a balcony as the guest wanted to smoke. The apartment has never been advertised with a balcony, so it's an odd claim to say it was on arrival. There are large windows and a mansarded velux in the bedroom, but no balcony. Anyway, comments taken on board!
