The Isle of Wight region

The Isle of Wight is situated approximately 3 miles off the English Southern Coastline. It is known for its breathtaking scenery with much of the Island being designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Island first became popular as a holiday destination during Victorian times and its unique charm still entices over 2.5 million visitors each year. It is quite easy to appreciate why the Island attracts so many, with its scenic coastline, award winning golden beaches, charming little villages and temperate climate – in fact the Island can boast more hours of sunshine than most other destinations in Britain. For the more energetic, the Island offers over 500 miles of maintained footpaths which makes it ideal for walkers and cyclists alike. The Islands towns offer a comprehensive range of shops and amenities including many 'High Street' names together with popular cafes, bars and restaurants - some even being awarded the 'Michelin Star'. All in all the Island is a wonderful holiday destination, catering for all ages and with activities for all interests.

Chale

Chale Green is a hamlet situated approximately 1.5 miles inland from the Island's scenic southern coastline. A must visit is Chale Green Stores, where you will find fresh local produce, homemade food & speciality groceries, which are rarely seen in supermarkets & simply not available elsewhere on the Island. In addition, there is a deli, cafe & post office. The White Mouse Inn can be found just along the road (approximately one mile) in the village of Chale & is a well known family pub, again serving good food. Once fed & watered you can explore the local coastline, where you will find some of the most breath taking panoramic coastal & country views found on the Island. The beaches are great for fossil hunting & you can even see a dinosaur footprint (at low tide) a little further up the coast at Compton Bay. There is just so much to see along the Island's southern coast...don't forget Blackgang Chine - one of Engalnd's first theme parks & St Catherine's Lighthouse - now automated but open to the general public for guided tours. Come & pay us a visit & see what you can find - you won't be disappointed...
