Jourdain is a stunning holiday property which combines a very clean and moden look with traditional stone and wood features. The house is set in a quiet elevated location with lovely open southerly views across the countryside. The grounds are totally enclosed with perimeter fencing and access to the parking area is via remote controlled gates providing a very secure environment for children.
The accommodation comprises an exceptional spacious open plan living room, modern kitchen and dining area, four large double bedrooms and two bathroom/shower rooms. The living room and two of the bedrooms have large glazed doors and windows which open onto the wooden terrace. As well as being bright and spacious, the property also enjoys underfloor heating and double glazing throughout.
Adjacent to the large swimming pool is an area of wooden decking which provides an ideal sun bathing location. An external cold shower is also next to the pool as well as a covered seating area. Other external features include a Petanque Court (French boules) and an electric canopy to provide shade over the lounge terrace.
This property was previously the owners residence and is finished to a very high and comfortable standard.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Charente region
La Genetouze is located on the boundary of Charente, Dordogne and Charente Maritime. This is generally a warm and sunny part of France and only second to the Mediterranean coast for annual hours of sunshine.
Supermarkets, banks and other facilities are available in nearby Chalais (6 miles) or Saint Aigulin (6 miles).
Further afield, you are a 45 minute drive from the beautiful vineyards of St. Emilion. Angouleme which is a beautiful medieval city and the capital of Charente is a 45 minute drive.
Chalais / La Genetouze area
There is large market in Chalais every Monday (6 miles), where there is an excellent restaurant Le Chateau. Aubeterre which is 30 minute drive has a vast underground Monolithic church.Night markets are held during the summer months in Brossac.An outdoor park with waterslide, lakeside beach and other activities is situated in Parcoul (5 miles). Quad bikes and jet skis are available at nearby Guizengeard (5 miles).

Further details indoors: The house is an architect designed barn/cottage conversion which combines a clean and modern look with traditional stone and wood features. The open plan living room includes a log burning inset fire, satellite tv, DVD player and music system. The kitchen is bespoke with hand crafted beech units and includes gas/electric hob, combination microwave oven, separate electric dishwasher and American style fridge/freezer with chilled water and ice dispenser.
Two of the bedrooms face south overlooking the garden/pool and each contain a comfortable double bed with storage space. One bedroom has a mezzanine level providing an ideal play area for children (age 5 and over). Both bedrooms are adjacent to a bathroom with shower which is finished in a quality glass and dark slate tile.
The other two bedrooms are to the rear of the property. One contains a double bed and has access to the outside via a glass panelled door. The other contains a set of bunk beds and a single half height bed. These rooms are adjacent to a large walk in wet room with wc.
Washing machine and tumble drier are provided in the hall which leads to the rear door and parking area.
Further details outdoors: The swimming pool is 12m x 4m with a depth of 1-1.6m and has a security cover and alarm system. The pool is surrounded by a wooden decking area. A covered seating area is located beside the pool as well as a cold shower to refresh you when it gets too hot!
Within the grounds is a private boulles court and swing set.
There is a gas barbeque and table with eight chairs on the lounge terrace and further seating/sun loungers at the pool terrace.
There are a small number of bikes available for your use as well as badminton,cricket and pool inflatables.
