Situated in unbelievably beautiful countryside, this charming Catalan style house is set in an acre of wooded garden, at an altitude of 500 metres. Facing south, it has magnificent views of the Franco-Spanish border and the Alberes mountains. Very light and ever sunny with french windows leading to terrace and garden. Comprising 2 bedrooms, lounge/dining area, bathroom, toilet, kitchen, laundry room. The villa is fully furnished, and linen etc. provided.
The house is a 5 minute walk from the picturesque village of Oms, with shop, post office, lovely church and bar! Enjoy the wonderful Saturday Market in Ceret, it's Picasso museum, and also the Dali Museum in Figueres. There are many medieval villages to explore, picturesque Collioure, and great walks.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region
The Languedoc-Roussillon region is well-known for its diverse local cuisine and the visitor is spoiled with choice in the myriad of local dishes they can sample. The area is also renowned for its wine making - red, white and rose wines abound. The region also benefits from a typically Mediterranean climate: hot, dry, and of course sunny, summers and mild winters.
The region, like many areas in France, boasts a diverse cultural heritage with many interesting and beautiful places to visit including the famous Carcassonne and Colliours. The region and the surrounding area of the villa offers a wide range of activites to please even the most discerning tourist.
Ceret / Oms area
The house is situated in the lovely village of Oms which features a beautiful church, a post office and Mme. Doutre's bar, and shop which sells everything!! Try the local cured hams and salamis, and pick up hot croissants and baguettes for breakfast, to enjoy on the terrace overlooking the mountain pass into Spain. Join the locals for a game of boules in the village square, and enjoy the wonderful walks.
Ceret, 20 min drive, is set amidst orchards of cherry trees. Rich in history, with it's 14th century fortified gateway and romanesque St Peter's Church. Picasse, Braque and many other famous artists lived here, and their works can be seen in the town's Museum of Modern Art.
A visit to the colourful market on a Saturday morning is a must. Banks, supermarkets and all other shopping facilities are available.
Take the "Yellow Train" from Villefranche for the day, to enjoy the magnificent views as you travel up into the mountains fto the village of Bourg Madame for lunch, and a stroll into Spain.
Argeles, St Cyrian and Canet, with their long, sandy beaches are a 30 min drive from Oms, as is Colliours, a haunt of Matisse and Picasso, and where lovely water colours can be purchased from the pier.
Carcassone, a medieval walled town is a 1 hr.45min drive.
Plein D'Eau is a beautiful lake situated in lovely park and woodland which is a 25 minute drive from the house. Enjoy long walks, fishing in adjacent lake, horse riding nearby and 'gambas' and chips in the lakeside restaurant/cafe.

The villa is situated in the outskirts of the picturesque village of Oms, a 40 min. drive from Perpignan Airport, and 1hr.30 mins. from Gerona Airport (Spain)

- A reservation deposit of 25% of the full rental fee (non refundable in the event of cancellation) is required at the time of booking. - The 75% balance of the rental fee is payable 6 weeks prior to arrival in Oms, together with a £95 security deposit (separate cheque) to cover damages, breakages, and any excessive cleaning. - The security deposit will be refunded in part or in full, 7 days after departure from Oms. - In the event of cancellation we will return your security deposit, but can only return any rental fee paid if the property is successfully re-let for the period of your cancelled booking. - We ask you to kindly leave the house clean and tidy, with special attention to the fridge, cooker and bathroom
