The Yorkshire region

York is centred in Northern Yorkshire, England's largest and most rural county. Home to the Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire Moors, Vale of York and the coastal region. Each with it's own distinct, natural beauty and charm.

Whilst visiting York why not take a trip out to some of the stunning stately homes including Castle Howard, Harewood House and Beningbrough Hall & Gardens to name but a few or even the delightful ruins of Bolton Abbey with its picturesque river and moorland path walks.

Host to a diversity of historic market towns including Malton, Thirsk, Hemsley and Knaresborough, not only an excuse to induldge in a little retail therapy but take in the beautiful surrounding and local culture.

Central York

York is such a special place to visit at all times of year, there is always something to see and do. The National Railway Museum, the Jorvik Centre, Fairfax House, the gild Halls and the Mansion House.....the list is endless.

In spring the daffodils surrounding the city walls are spectacular and York races in the summer create a colourful spectacle. As Christmas approaches, the Early Music Festival in November and the very popular St Nicholas Fayre keep the streets bustling with excitement; not forgetting all the many and varied music and religious festivals in York Minster.

"Great little cottage - comfy and stylish, very convenient position and with parking!"

We had a good week staying in Lavender Cottage which is a warm, comfy and well equipped holiday let, very central position and very quiet location. Great to have close parking space so unloading very easy. Would highly recommend for a couple visiting York and not wanting to use car.

"An ideal property to stay in for a visit to York"

We have rented this property on a number of occasions when visiting family and friends in and around York. It is situated in an ideal spot to visit all the main attractions in York.
In the past we have rented other properties from York Holiday Homes and found them fully satisfactory.

compact 1br cottage < 10mins walk from everything (well, almost!) incl York Minster. Incl a parking spot - v useful since parking inside the walls isn't easy. Very well set up. We spent a week here, using it as a base to explore York and some of the north of England. We loved it.

"Absolutely fantastic place to stay in York"

What a friendly, helpful group of people at York Holiday Homes. After many rentals from them, at different properties over the years, we have never had a bad experience. We would not dream of staying anywhere else when visiting York than with York Holiday Homes. Thank You again for a wonderful stay.
Lavender Cottage is a small, well presented cottage, ideal for two with a wonderful courtyard garden for sitting in the sunshine. Property right in the heart of the City for all facilities.

Thank you for your review, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed another stay with us! Lavender Cottage truly is idyllic and perfect for two! We look forward to your next booking and will make sure it is enjoyable once again. York has so many attractions to offer such as the Minster, the York Eye and all the marvellous shops and museums.
