Charming little 400 year old fishermans cottage set at the foot of Whitbys famous 199 abbey steps and at the heart of Whitby old town with its quaint little shops, inns and cafes. Tate Hill Beach only one minutes walk. The cottage is set in kiln yard and has its own private floodlit patio area which is perfect for relaxing or eating alfresco. Cosy sitting room furnished to a high standard with gas burning stove. Bathroom and WC . Lower ground floor kitchen/dinning room with traditional units and gas burning stove whic is acessed by steep winding stairs. Main bedroom to 1st floor beautifully presented with high quality fabrics and bed linen.TV. Small twin bedroom to attic room which is also full of character. Many original features retained in this lovely characterful little house. As in most traditional cottages of this type the stairs are quite steep please bear this in mind before booking there are also 2 steps with rail to front door. The nearest car park is in Church Street about five minutes walk. Limited parking outside cottage for unloading only.

We attend to the housekeeping ourselves and travel weekly to clean etc. Welcome pack of wine -(full week bookings only) milk tea coffee ect. plus little extras. Travel cot available by arrangement. Small well behaved dog welcome(treats for pooch too)

This area has a beutifull stretch of coastline from Staiths in the North to Robin hoods Bay in the South. The beaches in Whitby are great areas for anyone seeking a restfull break with Tate Hill beach on the south side and the main beach on the north side.a variety of ammusments for the kids and loads of places to eat and drink for the adults. there are many places to visit such as Robin hoods bay. york with all of its museums and the Yorvik centre.and to walk down the side of the river on a summers day is a delight. then of course are the North yorkshire moors for the walkers and the family. Places to visit and see in every direction from Whitby.

Central Whitby

Whitby is part of the north yorkshire moors national park of which is a stunning area of moorland and coastline. Ancient woodlands and historic sites. the two national park visitors centres at Danby and Sutton Bank, the north yorkshire moor railway. or Goathland the home of the TV series Hartbeat. or loads of fantastic walks with stunning views.
