"Warm and welcoming, a real home from home."
Number 53 is fantastic. It is clean and comfortable, and the welcome which we received from Rhian was very much appreciated (a special thanks for the homemade biscuits and everything needed to make a cuppa when we arrived). Shrewsbury town centre it a pleasant 15 minute walk along the river. The house is warm and comfortable, and the kitchen is well equipped. Honestly, our favourite self-catering accommodation ever.
Thankyou Kelly, glad you liked it. So pleased the boys got to see the salmon jumping at the weir too.

We had a lovely girly weekend in No53, Rhian was so helpful and welcoming and the house is so pretty and convenient.
Lovely, clean, cosy and homely rooms, kitchen is well equipped, lovely garden.
I really can't fault the place, and only a 10 minute walk from Shrewsbury town centre.
We are already thinking about a date for a return stay!
Thanks Mari, so glad you liked it . I'll look forward to welcoming you again. Diolch yn fawr

"Cosy and comfortable"
This is a really lovely house. Very cosy and comfortable, well equipped and decorated. It is ideal for those with a young child as there is a single bedroom as part of the master suite of rooms (which also includes an ensuite shower/sink/toilet and a large walk in closet). The other large room upstairs is also a double and the downstairs has a fully equipped bathroom, including an over bath shower. As we stayed in October, we enjoyed using the wood burner in the living room, but the central heating meant the bedrooms were warm too.
It is well placed, just on the edge of Shrewsbury Town Centre. You can walk in along the river path or via the road towards the station (which also has takeaways). We felt like we were in the country at times though, with ducks and hens over the fence at the end of the garden and no urban noise at all. There are a couple of good pubs nearby (The Dolphin has a popular pub quiz on a Thursday night we discovered). If you like history then Wroxeter Roman City (English Heritage) and Attingham Park (National Trust) are both quite close by. Shrewsbury itself is great to wander about in. Lots of interesting buildings and independent shops.
We had a fantastic stay here with the three generations of our family. Highly recommended.
Thanks Chris. Really pleased you enjoyed your stay and all Shrewsbury has to offer. The Dolphin is a firm favourite of ours but not ventured to quiz night yet, must try it. Thanks again

"Charming house in lovely spot"
Charming house in a lovely spot very near the weir and the river. About 15 mins peaceful walk along the river to the Wyle Cop side of town, or 7 minutes to the station. Very well equipped house, everything new and clean, wifi reliable, and an attractive garden with outside table. Arriving and departing were hassle free. Warm welcome from the owner Rhian, who also left Shrewsbury biscuits and a bottle of wine to greet us - a nice touch. We had a car, and narrow old Shrewsbury is difficult to drive around and park in. But parking is free in this area, and we always found a parking spot within 2 mins walk of the house (although you do have to drive round a bit) which was a real boon. We gave 4 rather than 5 stars because the wooden-framed bed in bedroom 2 isn't as comfy as the rather luxurious padded one in bedroom 1 (the ensuite), if both beds had been of that quality we would have given 5 stars. But not really a deal breaker, and we would recommend this house. Shrewsbury and Shropshire are beautiful, and this made an excellent base for exploring. We thought renting a house was much better value than staying in a hotel.
Thanks for your review. Will definitely bear your comment about the bed in mind when the time comes to refurbish that room.

"Avoid hotels. Stay at no. 53!"
Travelled as a family of 4. We wanted somewhere to stay for a long weekend in Shrewsbury. Were delighted to find we could stay at this house from Friday for three nights for the price of a cheap hotel with all its variables. Were welcomed upon arrival, and had everything we needed for settling in provided, and more. The house is quiet, as a hotel can't ever be, and was better equipped than a lot of more expensive places we've been to. There was nothing we needed and couldn't find. Furnished very well, rather than very cheaply. Close to the river, so the walk into town is scenic. Ten out of ten for peace, comfort and the welcome we got.
So glad you liked it, thanks for the review
