Home description
This Parisian Apartment has all the modern aspects of a newly refurbished apartment, along with the traditional feel of a Parisian home. Both natural oak untreated floors and the two traditional fireplaces give the apartment a natural charm which guarantees to make your stay here calm and relaxing.
The main feature of the apartment are the views; both the lounge and bedroom offer a clear view with trees below and the ancient Pierre de Taille apartments in the distance. From the kitchen window you can just about see the Montparnasse Tower over the roof tops.

The Paris/Ile de France region
The Paris/Ile de France region
Paris city of lights
The French capital, resplendent in its prestige, architecture and cultural importance, never ceases to appeal and fascinate.
It's difficult, if not impossible, to describe in a few lines a city which enjoys one of the world’s most flattering reputations. Its rich past and flourishing cultural life make Paris one of the world’s most visited cities - nearly 20 million visitors a year.
Ile-de-France boasts numerous open spaces outside Paris for sports such as golf, horse riding, mountain biking (MTB), walking and other outdoors activities. I recommend the forests of Montmorency, Ile d’Adam, Compiegne and Fontainebleau.
Central Paris / 14th / XIVe area
My apartment is located in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. The 14th arrondisement has a real village feeling and up-and-coming areas in Paris such as Montparnasse, Gaite, Montsouris, rue Daguerre and many interesting tourist spots : Montparnasse (the tower and the cementery where Baudelaire, Jean-Paul Sartre & Simone de Beauvoir and Gainsbourg are buried), the Paris catacumbs, Parc Montsouris).
The most appealing side of the quarter is that it still preserves its traditional French feel with its vibrant street life, its many markets, brasseries, artists ateliers, restaurants, shops and cafes.
The apartment is near lots of local restaurants and food chain supermarkets as well as local street markets and grocery stores.
From my apartment you can walk to Montparnasse in 10 mins and to Luxembourg Gardens or the Latin quarter in 20 mins. From the tower Montparnasse you get to see the roofs of Paris from the 56th floor (just a few floor lower than the Eiffel tower).
To get an idea of the location of the 14th arrondisement please visit this page: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arrondissements_de_Paris. http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cimeti%C3%A8re_du_Montparnasse
The area around Boulevard Montparnasse used to be a former favourite for the American community. It offers a lively café-restaurant culture and buzzing nightlife. The fourteenth is also home to the Observatoire de Paris that you unfortunately can not visit.
The area of Denfert Rochereau is a popular gathering for demonstrations as it forms the crossroads of the main arteries. Otherwise, it is a calm labyrinth of one way streets.
The 14th is also one of the greenest district of Paris thanks to the beautiful, peaceful "parc de Montsouris", and of course the giant green square inside the "Cite Internationale Universitaire de Paris", which are great places to jog or walk on sunny days.
Place de Catalogne and its landscape views of the Eiffel Tower, theatre and restaurant area of Gaite and nightlife Montparnasse. The theatre and restaurant area of Gaite is worth a visit too, and Alesia for shops and cinemas or Pernety artists hidden streets: rue Thermophiles, rue Olivier Noyer, rue de Moulin Vert...
In the 14eme arrond you also have one of the most famous and old flea markets: the Flea market of Vanves
Typical cycling day You can take advantage of the latest initiative of the town hall of Paris and rent a bike for the day at only €1.00. A typical ride could start at Alesia to ride on designated bike lanes to the Efiffel tower via Boulevard de Breteuil. Be at the Eiffel tower in 15 mins and ride along the Seine on a traffic free road on Sunday morning, end your journey at Notre Dame, take some pictures and ride up Boulevard de Saint michel to Luxembourgh Gardens in 10 mins, be back home in an extra 10 mins. All that in less than an hour unless you prefer to stop and relax at the sights. I could provide cycling maps and more information about cycling in Paris after a booking. If you are an experienced mountain, road or city bike cyclist and would like to bring your own bike, you could lock it in my cellar. My cellar has a security door so your bicycle would be secure. I am a keen city and MTB cyclist myself.

Guestbook for My Paris Apartment 2
We spent a week in this apartment, it was great! There is a lovely restaurant very near by and they do a really good brunch, which isn't expensive. The apartment was very clean and everything is all very new and really good quality. Klaude UK
my wife and i along with another couple spent four nights in Paris, we had a fantastic time. the food the sights the ambience, everything was great. We new would have a great time, however we have always stayed in hotels before, so to take an apartment was a new experience. i'm pleased to say an experience that will be frequented again. The apartment was just perfect, clean and tidy with everything we needed, it was like home from home and the money we save on hotel bills we spent on fantastic food and wine. highly recomended Guests from Shrewsbury
We couldn't have chosen a better apartment for our week exploring Paris. The location is peaceful, but close enough to walk to cafés and shops, even sights like the Montparnasse cemetery if you want to. The attentive owner contacted us to make sure everything was OK, and some notes in the apartment directed us toward recommended local restaurants and supermarkets. Being close to Metro line 4 it's so easy to get anywhere you need to go in the centre of Paris too, and you don't have to change if you arrive by Eurostar as the Gare du Nord is also on line 4. The apartment itself is clean and well furnished, with all the cooking facilities and media equipment (quality TV, cable, wireless internet, modern DVD player with USB connection) you need to relax after a day's sightseeing. There is a gas/electric stove/dishwasher and washing machine and fridge, all making great use of compact space in the kitchen. It feels like a typical romantic Parisian flat, in an old apartment with friendly occupants. The bedroom is airy and comfortable and we slept well. The property is exactly as described on the website and we would happily recommend it to a friend. We are considering a return visit ourselves! Dave UK
We rented this apartment for one week in March. The place is absolutely spotless, very tastefully decorated with a real parisian touch. It is very well equipped (kitchen, bathroom and all modern electronic appliances + WiFi). It overlooks a small garden and is totally free from street noise. We loved the neighborhood which is very genuine (you won't come across any tourists). There are so many shops around (butchers, bakeries, groceries, clothes...). It is safe to walk around at night and the restaurants serve excellent food at reasonable prices. The metro station is only at a 5-minute walk and it will take you to the main tourist attractions (St Germain, Notre Dame, etc.) in only 15 minutes. You can also rent a bike at the Velib station which is across the road. Emma gave us all the details we needed for a smooth stay. We would definitely come back ! Laurence France
haven't got words to explain how good it was to stay in this apartment. Having rented apartments in Rome before, I realise how much of the good value this apartment is. First of all, it's clean like no other apartment I have been to, it has a very traditionally french feel while still having all modern amenities you could look for: fast wifi internet access, large flat TV with quality image and DVD with movies, a stereo where i could just put my ipod and listen to my own music, a study desk which my girlfriend used as a make up desk, a laptop! which i didnt need but it's there, and another stereo in the kitchen to listen to music while you cook. I loved the kitchen, it's just so charming. Gianluca Rome
The area is a plus point for this apartment. My boyfriend and I were first considering an area of Paris that was just next to Notre Dame de Paris. But we followed the advice of a friend to stay in the 14th arrondisement because of its charm, authenticity and traditional feel. We absolutely loved the markets, the little shops, restos and bars hidden between its little streets, it's really genuine. You can walk to many areas: Luxembourg gardens and the Pantheon, Montparnasse, Invalides, or you can take a bus and metro and be in the river in less than 20 minutes. We really enjoyed one particular evening at 'Le Entrepot' a resto and live music spot in the 14th arrondisement, it's a place for locals where you will feel like a local. If I ever come back to Paris, this will be my choice No1 district and my choice No 1 apartment! Louise Canterbury
My husband and I have just returned from a 4 day trip to Paris and stayed in Emma's wonderful apartment. We lived in Paris for 3 yrs until recently so know the city very well and were looking for an apartment with good location, good value for money and with an authentic Paris feel to it. We have travelled alot and this would have to be one of the best apartments we have stayed in. Very quiet at nights (I'm a light sleeper so this was great), light and spotlessly clean, nicely furnished, very comfortable bed, supplied with all the necessities (fluffy towels, soap, extra blankets, DVDs, Wifi connection etc. - even coffee for the coffee maker), a lovely owner and very well located for metro - 5 min walk to Metro Line 4 which has easy connections to other metro lines so you can be wherever you want to be in Paris within a short space of time. It is also very easy to get to if you are coming from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport as the RER main train line from the airport has a stop only 10 - 15 mins walk from the apartment. We flew in from London, got the train and were at the apartment in no time. The gardien (caretaker) had the apartment key and it was all very plain sailing in terms of getting there and leaving. Emma gave us detailed instructions about arriving and departing and was very efficient and helpful in her correspondence, The apartment is on the 3rd floor with no lift but we did not find it a problem. The 14e arrondisement is the real Paris not the touristy one so is great for those who love to wander the streets, eat at authentic local eateries (the area is full of great places at reasonable prices for good food) and experience Paris up close. It is a lovely neighbourhood with a park round the corner and lots of small boutique shops. We highly recommend Emma's apartment for couples, singles or family groups for a really enjoyable Parisian holiday Lynda New Zealand
To be honest, your apartment, neighborhood and its convenience to the Metro was everything I had hoped for and more. In addition, you have been a delight. We tried very hard to take great care of your home and treated it as if it were our own. Thank you for everything Elissa USA
We'd just like to say that the apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay very pleasurable. It's location was a big plus also. Belinda Australia
