The apartment is situated in the heart of Paris across from the Louvre in an ancient royal building built by Louis XIV. High ceilings and large windows overlooking two historically classed buildings add a feeling of grandeur to the atmosphere.
The apartment consists of a hallway with one or 2 bathrooms and two to 4 bedrooms. Each bedroom has an elevated “night” area with a queen-size bed that overlooks the “day” area with a sofa-bed. It is in fact 1 apartment which can be devided into 2 smaller independent apartments or linked with 1 or more other apartments located on the same floor.
The location is perfect for vacations. Just 100 metres from the Louvre, you’re also within easy walking distance of the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Latin Quarter, the Orsay Museum and Pompidou Centre. The small street in front of the apartment is nice and quiet.
The apartment was renovated in November 2009 and comes with all the modern conveniences you’ll need for you stay. Air conditioning and un underground parking can be provided upon request for an additional fee to be negotiated with the owner. There’s a washer and dryer operated by the owner team in a common area on the same floor as the apartment.

As this property is very flexible, please explain with details what you need (space , beds, equipment, view, balcony ..) we will help you to find the best possible compromise between the cost and the comfort. These 2 last parameters can lead you to choose something between a
-2 rooms+2lofts+1 bathroom+kitchenette+4 doublebeds apartment for 8 guests at a very low price (under 25% of a hotel rate/person in this area) but also it will then be only a place to sleep;
to a 4rooms+3lofts+3bathrooms+2kitchens+8doubebeds+big balcony much more expensive but then your level of comfort and space will also be much higher (about 130m2 or 1300sf).
For small groups between 1 and 6 guests we usually propose the cheapest possible solution as for short stays it is comfortable, between 6 and 8 you have a choice between 1 and 2 apartments if your group is bigger than 12 we propose 3 linkable apartments. But you are free to choose 2 or 3 apartments for 6 if for example you are 3 couples and you want that each couple have its own apartment... We did choose this pricing policy to open one of best locations in Paris to families with low budget or groups of young people (like students) who want to visit our city but do not yet have the budget to stay in a hotel. But If you choose the cheapest solution please do not expect to have the comfort of the most expensive one.

At the booking (as the configuration of what you rent is very flexible) be sure that what you rent is what you need (ask all the question you need before to send the downpayment)
1) 150E downpayment via PayPal on reservation
2) 50% of global rate at least 1month before the check-in
3) Balance and dommage deposit (350E) in cash (ONLY) on the check in
4) The dommage deposit is retourned by PayPal 2 weeks after the check-out

The Building, dated from the17st century, is a side part of the Louvre where several members of the Royal Family were hosted in. Because of the 3,5-3,7m hight ceilings, the thick walls, floors and parquets, the apartment is very quiet (the walls are 1m thick in some places). It was transformed and totally renewed by the end of 2005/2006. But as it is protected by the State, the original style of this rich house has been restored as it was in the 17th century when Louis de XIVth was our king.
The history of this place is very rich: this place was the heart of The Protestant area and many of them were hidden here during the Saint Barthelemy night, then the Kings family was hosted here; it was also a dance school of the Royal Court …
The Central Paris / 1st / Ier area
The Building is located in the very Centre of Paris, the1st district.
This is probably the best location a tourist can dream:
- 50m from the Louvre metro station,
- 100m from the Louvre Museum,
- 100m from the Saint Honouré street where the best shops, food and restaurants are located.
- 200m from the biggest French Train and Metro station (underground) to go wherever you want in France.
- 5min walk to the Latin Quarter, to Notre Dame, to Beaubourg … 10min to Champs Elysées,
Everything is on your feet : no need to use the Metro or the bus.

Location is great but communcation is appaling. No booking confirmation, no confirmation on receipt of deposit and 've only just received the deposit back (8 weeks after returning from Paris). Apartment was nice but a bit scrappy around the edges. Each room has a mezzanine with no head room and fold out beds. |

Although it is very central the acommodation is very small. We had a 2 bedroom apparment which had 2 lofts. The height of the ceilings in the loft was approx 3 feet tall. The bathroom was very small and needed repair on the shower screens. The towels provided were all different colours - second hand. They indicated that they could pick us up from the airport for an extra 98E. They were 1 hour 30 minutes late. Given the cost - as I have stayed before in Paris - This proved to be very expensive. I hoped that this appartment would be an appartment style accommodation. It was not. If you wanted airconditioning it was extra. It took 4 weeks to get my bond back Response: This guest did not stay in our apartment (#27224) but in another one However as we consider his comments not very fair we publish hereafter our answer During the check-in and after verification this guest did sign the contract certifying that it was in line with the description, clean and that he had all he needs. His complain is not in line with his original statement which is possible for some details but not on major points he write about. 1) The apartment small with low ceilings Our apartment was not available when he did request for it We did propose him another one, smaller, in the same location, normally sufficient for 5 guests (he did confirm that the location was good as it is probably the best location, facing the Louvre ). We did send a detailed description, pictures and floor plans. We did propose him an lower price than our apartment and he did accept it and book it. As it is written in the description the apartment is 3.7m high (12.14ft) but the lofts are between 1.3m (4.26ft) and 1.6m (5.25ft) nowhere 3ft as he complained. This size is normally good for sleeping (but certainly not for dancing) and some of the beds are downstairs if you do not like lofts. As we do not want to overprice the apartment we propose the AC as an extra but it is clearly indicated (in fact it is very rarely necessary, but sometimes in August it can be better to take it ) After the stay we did send him a compensation (he did accept it too) as even with all this description he did consider that his stay and the apartment was not in line with his expectations. 2) The taxi expensive and late To improve guest check-ins we propose a taxi service. It is not expensive as this guest was with a 5 person group so normally he would have to take 2 taxis and it will cost about 130E (he did pay 98E). Normally “our” taxi driver is waiting with a panel with your name, help you with your luggage to get directly to the taxi (a very good quality new van or minivan) and goes by the fastest way to our apartment. Our taxi calls us to inform us about the expectable check-in time so we are at the apartment when you arrive. With a standard taxi you have to get to the airport taxi area, queue sometimes 1h, have a variable quality (and kindness) taxi who will get to our apartment after variable time depending on his knowledge of the way and his interest to stay more time with you to increase the price. But with this guest the taxi did report that he did spend 45min to find the guest (we do not have more details) so he was 45min late (not 1:30h as reported the guest but even 45min is too much I agree) 3) Bond return too long, towels different colors, shower screen The bond in 90% of cases is returned automatically after 1 to 3 weeks however if it does not work automatically for any reason (different eMail address, complain pending …) it can be sometimes till 5 weeks but no more. Our towels are all the same size but different colors. They are ecologically washed (all the maintenance of our apartment as well as heating, water heating washing cleaning excepted AC is fully ecologic) They are not 2nd hand we buy best quality , pure ecologic-coton towel and we keep it for 1 to 2 years or less if damaged. You can choose all the towels of the same color if it is a big problem for you. The shower screen was a bit damaged (I agree but the owner did fix it now) To summarize We agree with this guest that you should carefully read description analyze pictures and plans of the apartment you rent in any case and complain if what you have is not in line with what you did see. We do not agree with the mark : he did put a very low mark to everything as he was disappointed suggesting that everything was wrong and not in line with the description . |
