Your English host has been living in France for many years and have created a warm and welcoming Bed & Breakfast environment within their smart but comfortable top floor apartment that she is happy to share with you. As the B&B overlooks an inner courtyard and private gardens, 52 Clichy is an oasis of calm and peace where birdsong is normally the loudest noise you will hear - this is surprising because you are in the heart of the city and close to many transport links.
Your bedroom can be organised to accommodate either a very comfortable 2m wide bed with feather mattress or 2 twin beds. Bedlinen is luxury 400 count thread cotton. However you won't need to spend too much time in the bedroom because you are encouraged to spend your time in the rest of the apartment, especially the wonderfully sunny terrace (from which breakfast will be provided on warm mornings); take an aperitif there before dinner whilst planning your next day's schedule. You could also spend the evenings sitting on the comfortable sofas in the living room resting your feet after walking around the city all day.
Another advantage - there are NO steps / stairs to the top floor - there is an elevator to the front door of the apartment. Wheelchair friendly - Internal doors are at least 80cms / 31 inches wide so if you need a wheelchair at times the B&B is perfect. You need to be able to take a couple of steps if you come to the B&B, not completely wheelchair - bound. If you are completely wheelchair-bound take a look at my apartment by searching for '52 Clichy apartment ' as it is completely functional for wheelchair users.
Your ensuite bathroom has a shower in bath. Your private WC is opposite (as in most French homes the toilet is separate from the bathroom).
The washing machine and / or the dryer is available to all guests at €5 per usage. They are in the kitchen so are accessible to both the owner and the guests.
There is Free (and very fast - 100 Mb/s) fibre optic internet access and Wifi. The internet provider also offers free telephone calls to almost all landlines around the World and calls to cell phones in the USA and Canada.
'Make yourselves at home' is the only house rule. My website calendar is updated after every booking if you want to check it out to be sure of availability as there are sometimes time lags on the Trip Advisor site.
We are so central, we are an ideal base for walking / visiting all that Paris has to offer.
We are surrounded by theatres and restaurants. In less than 10 minutes walking you can be in Montmartre with the famous Moulin Rouge up to the fabulous Sacré Coeur that dominates the Parisian skyline or you can pop down the road to the Opéra Garnier and the upmarket shopping area of Galéries Lafayette & Printemps. There are 3 metro stations on rue de Clichy (which is only half mile long), the metros come every 2 minutes on average and there are dozens of buses from Place de Clichy and St Lazare going to all the places you want to go.
If you are driving there is a secure Car Parkvery close by (ask for the internet link) and if you book in advance it is half price.
'Vélib' & 'Autolib' (bike & car hire) stations are just opposite the building for the brave at heart.

The Ile-de-France region
What does anyone need to write about being in Paris!
If you must leave us it is only 45 minutes on a TGV train to Reims and the champagne region, a shorter journey to Giverney to Monet's Gardens or an even shorter train journey to the Chateau de Versailles....
"Left, left and 2nd left" are the directions necessary to arrive at the Moulin Rouge and the base of Montmartre or "straight down the hill" to the Grands Magasins and the Opéra all in less than 10 minutes.
Surounded by restaurants and with 3 theatres on the Rue de Clichy you are close to everything but without being disturbed by the bustle of those quartiers.

"Comfortable, quiet and central"
The title says it all, except that Rosemary is a welcoming and knowledgable host - and for those who don't know Paris she is a fount of useful information. Breakfast for me was perfect, the flat was warm, and the beds very comfortable. The location is very central with easy access to the Metro. To be recommended.

Staying with Rosemary at 52 Clichy was like staying with a friend in an unfamiliar city. The location was wonderful, centrally located with easy access to absolutely everything. The apartment was charming and pleasant and our bedroom/bath very comfortable and quiet. Breakfasts offered a variety of Parisian pastries every morning and, on occasion, Rosemary’s homemade yogurt, a real treat. One of the best parts of this B&B was Rosemary’s knowledge of the Parisian people, places and protocol; we definitely appreciated and took advantage. 52 Clichy was our “home away from home” for the week. It exceeded our expectations and we would definitely recommend it to anyone.

"Lovely place, good location, fantastic host"
In our second time in Paris, we have decided to stay in the North of Siena and Rue de Clichy was a great choice. Subway station a few blocks, bus stop right in front of the building and several other bus lines in the streets crossing Place de Clichy. Rosemary is a lovely host, making you feel at home. Bedroom is not big, but it is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the balcony is perfect, besides having Rosemary teaching you about the different French boulangerie specialties. If you don't want to take any public transportation for dinner, there are several good options nearby in Montmartre. It works like a traditional B&B. We share the appartment with the host, have your own keys, share your stories with Rosemary during the breakfast and get to know each other. Everything at a much better rate than an average hotel in the area.

"Great place to stay in Paris"
We had a wonderful 4-day stay at 52 rue de Clichy in late September. The accommodations were great, so was the location, and Rosemary was a charming and knowledgeable hostess. She provided lots of advance information, included detailed instructions for getting to and into the apartment, and she was there to greet us when we arrived (45 minutes early). Try it, you'll like it.

"Rosemary’s B&B is the only way to go!"
We just returned from a week in Paris and have talked to friends as much about our stay at Rosemary’s B&B as we have about the sights and sounds of that beautiful city. Waking up in a comfortable bed and stepping out in our pj’s to a breakfast of fresh fruits, delicious French pastries, and hot teas on her cozy, beautiful outdoor terrace was the perfect way for us to meet every new day in Paris. Sharing the previous day’s outing experience with Rosemary over breakfast; getting her tips and advice on any planned excursions; and learning about the local norms, history, politics, and do’s and don’ts were like having our own personal English-speaking travel advisor/concierge . Rosemary’s B&B is located in an ideal location for tourists like us that like to get out and explore or those that simply want to stay in and relax. Her secure and private location is shielded from the busy sounds of the city yet is within a stone’s throw of a bakery, grocery store, three subway stations, and numerous restaurants and outdoor cafes. We took advantage of all of these during our stay! There is even a dry cleaner across the street and a laundry around the corner that we could have used, if needed. There is an ATM machine directly across the street from her place, plus a bank at the Place de Clichy Square that is a 5 minute walk from there. We spent three evenings at the Place de Clichy having dinner or sitting at an outdoor café people-watching and enjoying the sounds and hustle and bustle of the Square. We walked up to the Sacre Cruer church from Rosemary’s place the first night we were there and ate at one of the several restaurants she suggested. We walked past the Moulin Rouge on our way to the tourist area and the artists’ square surrounding the church. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the artist square at night was so enjoyable that we went back a second night during our stay. The large St. Lazare train station, subway station, and shopping mall is less than a ten minute walk from the B&B and is the perfect place from which to take a train to outlying areas and other cities. Per Rosemary’s suggestions, we bought our Museum passes and SIM cards for our cellphones just across the street from the train station. The Eurocar office and garage for the car we rented for our drive to Amsterdam was also conveniently located in the St. Lazare station. The location of Rosemary B&B was ideal, but more importantly, it was a very comfortable place to stay. The beds were big and comfortable, the bathroom clean and functional, the living area comfortable and inviting, the apartment and surrounding areas very quiet, and the closets and storage areas adequate for our clothes and travel stuff. Our toilet was just across the hall from our bedroom but was not an inconvenience. We stayed at a nice hotel the first time we went to Paris a few years ago, but Rosemary’s B&B is the only way to go!

A great choice for a trip to Paris! It was my first trip to Paris and I travelled with my teenage daughter. The apartment was perfectly located for us, we used the nearby metro station but mostly just walked everywhere. Rosemary has a useful list of restaurant suggestions, we had fantastic meals a short walk away. Breakfasts were delicious and included beautifully cut fruit and interesting local pastries. Rosemary was really helpful with useful advice when we were planning our days out. We would loved to go back, perhaps we will bring the rest of the family next time and stay in Rosemary's equally wonderful larger apartment below!

"The B and B at 52 Clichy was an excellent experience and one I would experience again."
My wife, Bonnie, handled most of the reservations for our trip to Paris and to southern France. Bonnie wanted to stay in a B & B while in Paris. I have always enjoyed my independence, so the concept of a B & B presented a little apprehension for me. However, I agreed to stay at 52 Clichy. I must say this apprehension soon faded as the experience provided by Rosemary Allan was truly outstanding. The accomodations, food, and conversation, were all excellent. We will be visiting Paris again soon and we will plan our dates around the availability of Rosemary's apartment. I believe this is the highest recommendation one can make.
