About the home

Located at the first floor of this period building at the heart of a pedestrian and very busy area of the Latin Quarter, the studio is bright, very comfortable and well equipped. The one room has a floor area of 35m2, a ceiling decorated with the original XVII century wooden beams, custom made wall to wall wardrobes giving you plenty of space for unpacking and storing.
From May 2013 onwards, I shall have a very comfortable 1 person sofa bed on offer which can be set up in minutes for the night.
Its laid out dimensions are: 90x200.

The small kitchenette is ideal for light meals and breakfast which is perfect to enjoy the numerous restaurants in the immediate vicinity. For those willing to stay in shape, they can jog in the nearby Jardins du Luxembourg and the explorer, the historian, the artist or the romantic can set up for their corresponding stroll. The Miuseum of the Middle-Ages is just around the corner and many other museums and landmarks are to be found within a short distance. Numerous movie theaters showing both commercial and author type movies in many languages are also within a short walk.

This is your best chance to be a Parisian, explore Paris and get the most out of your stay in the French capital.

"Ile de la Cité", with La Conciergerie and Notre Dame are at the epicentre of your visit of Paris. The river Seine, its banks, bridges and remarkable landmarks make it unique, full of sensations and romance, and the most visited city of the world. Le Louvre is a comfortable and breathtaking stroll away.

The Central Paris / 5th / Ve area

La Parcheminerie is on the left bank, in a pedestrian area among the many narrow streets running through period and stylish buildings, shops and restaurants, definitely with a lot of charm and caché.

Across the Boulevard Saint-Germain, lies the Cluny museum (museum of the Middle-Age) which gives the tone of the depth of the history covered in this Paris neighbourhood. Beyond are the Sorbonne and the Panthéon at the hill top. On the left of it, you will discover the eclectic and lively rue Mouffetard.

Architecture is only one aspect of the cultural wealth of this area which covers every form of visual and performing art, including food and mood.

Both Paris airports are linked by train (RER B) to the flat. Entrance to the station (St Michel-Notre Dame) is less than 150 yards away.
National train stations are also very near (less than 10mn by tube): Gare du Nord and Gare Montparnasse through line 4 and Gare d'Austerlitz through line 10 or RER C.
Avoid Beauvais Airport if possible as transit time could take up to 3 hours whereas it will not exceed 45mn from either Orly or CDG.
Car rental is really not necessary to visit Paris from la Parcheminerie. Should you wish to do so, most rental companies are located around Gare Montparnasse and "ADA" would be the most affordable.

“Parisian Paradise” La Parcheminerie was our little corner of paradise in Paris! A lovely large studio, in the heart of the Latin Quarter, which made us feel at home. WE could walk everywhere or take the Metro/RER or a bus - all situated within a 2 minutes walk. The studio is tastefully decorated, with a lot of light (3 large windows), situated in a very calm little side street. We enjoyed the large comfortable bed and the bath - a must after a whole-day walk. The little kitchen was very practical. The studio was well maintained – spotlessly clean! All was as described! We had excellent contacts with Albert, the owner. Very simple mode of payment. We have visited Paris very often, in hotels or studios: this one was the best ever, a real pleasure!

“Spacious studio in Latin Quarter” We enjoyed our week's stay in this comfortable and well- equipped apartment. The high timbered ceilings and large window gave a very spacious feel. The excellent location was perfect for exploring the Left Bank, a five minute walk to Notre Dame and a block from the excellent but often overlooked Cluny museum. The apartment was very quiet, but steps away from the crowds of tourists, and many restaurants and shops. Thanks to Marylyn for welcoming us and answering all our questions

“A nice basic place in a top position with good owner support.” A safe, good place to stay in a fantastic location ready to explore the wonderful sights of Paris. The apartment was basic but clean and tidy with all you need at a fair price. It is in a great position in a relatively quiet lane right in the heart of the Latin Quarter (which can be quite busy and noise otherwise), close to transport and some major tourist sights. There was good clear contact with the owner and we meet the caretaker to let us in as arranged with no problems.

“A quiet, spacious centrally located studio on the Left Bank” The apartment was clean, spacious, and pleasant. Nice views onto a quiet street. Comfortable bed and ample space in the bathroom. Great, central location. Communication with the owner of the flat and the assistant who handled the key and other local area considerations (info about the supermarkets, etc), was easy and reliable. A great first stay in a Paris flat.
