Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 3
In this 55 square meters holiday apartment, you can enjoy all the comforts of contemporary urban living, yet within the charm of a historic Parisian neighbourhood. The Bastille square that once was the stage of the French revolution today houses the Paris Opera, and in the surrounding streets you can find an endless choice of cafés, bars, and restaurants.
Equally close, just at five minutes walk, you can enjoy the special atmosphere of the most beautiful square of Paris, la Place des Vosges, from early 17th century, and next to it, the charming Hôtel de Sully. This is where the Marais starts, nowadays one of the trendiest districts in Paris, full of original fashion boutiques, art galleries, and of course, restaurants and bars – many of them gay.
When back at your Parisian home, you can appreciate its stylish parquet floors and designer furniture with glass tables featuring the palette of a painter, and all the light coming in through the windows facing a bright, quiet garden. As a matter of fact, you can easily sleep with your windows open, despite being in the centre of Paris. Your bedroom has a comfortable double bed, which, thanks to an ingenious mechanism, can easily be stowed in less than a minute to a decorative library, giving you more space during the day. The living room sofa can also be quickly converted into another bed for one (or two) persons.
To further relax, indulge yourself in the luxury of a spacious designer bathroom with two sinks, hair dryer, large bathtub, and both a rain shower & hand-held shower.
During your stay, you can live and delight your friends like a true Parisian master chef in the fully equipped kitchen, complete with all the preparation and serving utensils you may need. Just at your doorsteps you will easily find a couple of supermarkets, but you should definitely not miss a true Parisian market on Thursday and Sunday mornings, with the freshest produce around: vegetables, fruit, seafood, poultry and meat, and of course, French baguettes.

The Paris/Ile de France region
There are thousands of different reasons for spending your holidays in Paris, depending on each and everyone’s tastes & preferences. This is because Paris simply has so much to offer.
No matter if you’re visiting Paris for the first time, or coming here every year, you can’t help but being impressed by the beauty of its historic monuments, such as the Bastille, Place des Vosges, or the Louvre, plus hundreds more, all within easy reach. You can visit them conveniently by hopping in one of the many sightseeing buses at the Bastille, or do it more leisurely, by sitting comfortably in one of the river boats on the Seine, and let the sights just float by.
You can hardly talk about a visit to Paris, without talking about the French cuisine, just waiting for you to try in a variety of restaurants, or right at your footsteps at the local market, where you can buy the freshest products, many of them organically grown. Thanks to the cosmopolitan nature of Central Paris, you can easily find a restaurant to fit every taste of the world. However, in case you’re vegetarian, you may have to make some extra effort to find a restaurant to cater for your tastes. There is one in just 10 min walk from the apartment.
Paris is of course the city for lovers, and you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to locate your personal romantic hideaway in one of the city’s squares, along the Seine, or perhaps at the nearby Port de l’Arsenal behind the Place de la Bastille.
We chose this flat location because of its easy access to the most pleasant areas in Paris, yet allowing all the modern comforts of contemporary urban living, something that one appreciates after having lived previously in a historical building.
Although most visitors initially head to Le Marais for its historic attractions, don’t be surprised if you end up spending more time visiting its art galleries and trendy fashion boutiques. Check also some of the newest boutiques at the Boulevard Beaumarchais, including the famous Merci.
As everywhere in Paris, you shouldn’t miss the Parisians’ most favourite pastime: people-watching on a terrace of a café, while sipping your café crème, or perhaps a glass of wine. You’ll be amazed by all the different styles you see going by, until you’ll probably adopt your very own Parisian style, as well.
Having walked through the Marais, you’ll reach the famous Centre Pompidou Art Museum. Its striking architecture still continues to appal many, but inside, you’ll find one of world’s most impressive collections of contemporary arts. If you’re into more traditional art, be sure not to miss the Musée d’Orsay for its impressionists, and of course the Louvre with its magnificent masterpieces. Both of these, as well as many other sites (e.g. Eiffel Tower) are easily accessible by bus 69, with a stop right at the exit of the apartment.
If you’re an opera fan, you should definitely visit the Paris Opéra at the Place de la Bastille, next to the apartment. Tickets can easily be purchased on-line, but be early!
