Apartment | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Imagine breakfast or evening cocktails in your very own private garden…in the heart of Paris!! Eat outside under the wisteria on balmy, summer nights. A haven of peace in the bustle of the city. As you slip through door on the rue de Bagnolet, you enter a hidden world few people ever see – a cobble stone path in a late 19th century “cite ouvrière” with small houses and gardens, leads to our 2 story apartment-which-is-really-almost-a-small--house, amidst wild bamboo, creeping vines and sundry vegetation.
This ultra-charming residence (the third and last floor is inhabited but the tenants have a separate entrance outside our gate) is comprised of a private garden with a large picnic table, shaded lounging area, a spacious ground floor kitchen/dining-living room area, a second floor with two bedrooms (one with a double bed, another large one with two singles), a large fin-de-siècle bathroom with full bathtub and shower, a large library-staircase. We are fully equipped (dishwasher, washing machine, oven, 4 gas burners, Nespresso machine, iPod&iPhone dock, stereo and large CD library, wifi, unlimited calls to all European and North American land lines etc.)
Our apartment/house is a rare gem in the city of lights, an ideal haven for those who want both easy access to the center of the city and the possibility of escaping the hubub in a blink and hanging out in the garden with a good book and Miles Davis playing on the stereo. 5 minutes by metro from République, 15 minutes from Châtelet and the Marais, 25 minutes from St. Germain-des-Prés, a 15 minute bus ride from la Bastille and a 10 minute walk from Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, Chopin and Oscar Wilde! Plus, since we are very near the Porte de Bagnolet, a mere 20 –30 minute taxi ride takes you to both airports. The new tramway that circles Paris is a mere meters from the house
ps. For summer 2015, we are only going to rent for relatively long periods. (minimum one week-ten days). We do not have a fixed price for a monthly rental yet, but count on less than 4X4 weeks (we must see how this can be cleared with Holiday Lettings). The house should be available from July 26th to end of August. Rentals for under a week will not be possible.

About this location
The Ile-de-France region
The new tramway that circles Paris is a mere meters from the house. The Eurostar from London which arrives at the Gare du Nord is a 20 minute metro ride.
Other distinct advantages of not being in the very center of Paris: there are two parks within a 3 minute walk, public basketball and tennis courts a five minute walk away, a public Olympic size swimming pool (retractable roof during the summer) 10 minutes on foot and another large public pool 10 minutes in the other direction, an excellent, fully equipped gym with sauna and weekly or monthly subscriptions, one of the hottest alternative music spots in the city (the Flèche d'or in a reconverted train station) just down the street, right across from Philippe Stark's popular, swank bar Mama Shelter, the largest new Médiathèque in Paris next door, a large bi-weekly open-air market around the corner, tons of restaurants and specialty shops teeming around place Gambetta and the rue des Pyrénées (a 5 minute walk).
