The Paris/Ile de France region
Paris is the capital and largest city in France, situated on the river Seine, in northern France, at the heart of the Île-de-France region (or Paris Region, French: Région parisienne). The city of Paris, within its administrative limits largely unchanged since 1860, has an estimated population of 2,193,031 (January 2007), but the Paris metropolitan area has a population of 11,836,970 (January 2007), and is one of the most populated metropolitan areas in Europe.
Rambuteau is a station on line 11 of the Paris Métro in the 3rd and 4th arrondissements in central Paris.
The station opened as part of the original section of the line from Châtelet to Porte des Lilas on 28 April 1935. It is named after the Rue Rambuteau, which was named after Claude-Philibert Barthelot, Comte de Rambuteau (1781 - 1869), a senior official in the former Départment of the Seine, who established the groundwork for the fundamental transformation of Paris that Haussmann carried out under the Second Empire.
Nearby are the Centre Georges Pompidou containing the Musée National d'Art Moderne, the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire du Judaïsme (museum of Jewish art and history) and the Jardin Anne-Frank (garden honouring Anne Frank).

"Small but quiet, and Easy to walk to everything"
My husband and I took our older teenage boys to Paris from Amsterdam, on a European trip. Paris was just the weekend, and this place was very clean, charming area, reasonable and quiet. GREAT walking distance to stores, il de la cite (notre dame), and restaurants, metro too. Would stay there again, but not for more than about 4 days. Kitchen is too small for 4 peoples' meal more than a few breakfasts, snacks etc. Still....great place for short trip. No worries at all, safe, etc. Two beds, one pull out, one large bed in loft. tiny bathroom upstairs too. Worth the price and we were happy.

"Cozy little studio apartment in the heart of Paris"
We stayed there as a family of 3, our daughter had the sofa bed downstairs, we had a king size bed upstairs. 1 small bathroom upstairs, a very small kitchen downstairs with 2 hotplates, small fridge, coffeemaker, tea kettle and toaster. Everything worked perfectly, stay there if you want to experience apartment living like a real Parisian. We loved it. 5 minutes walk to Centre Pompidou. Several metro stops nearby, restaurants, cafes, bakeries and supermarkets just around the corner. A wonderful location in central Paris. I would book this studio again in a heartbeat.

"Too small for 4 people"
The apartment looked much bigger in the photos advertised. There was a bedroom in a kind of mezzanine, and a tiny living room with a sofa bed. If you had the sofa bed open, you couldn't walk in the room. There was only a folding table with a couple of chairs, but you could use them only if the sofa bed was closed, what made it very uncomfortable. The place may be good for 2 people and only of you don't want to cook and eat there. The location was good though.
