Unusual spectacular, three-bedroom artist's loft located in a reconverted factory building in a private gated group of lofts/artists homes (180m2=1800sqft). Floor-to-ceiling windows open onto a terrace with chairs and table and garden common space where children can play safely. The ground floor features 20 foot high ceilings, comfortable couches* and chairs, a spacious dining area with a fully equipped, open plan kitchen, one double bedroom with small en suite bathroom/shower area, and an additional shower room and WC. There are two additional double bedrooms on the mezzanine level, one with ensuite bathroom/tub, the other with a comfortable double loft bed, desk and large window. [*can sleep one additional person, i.e. 6+] The apartment has central heating plus fireplace unit. Imagine breakfasting outside to the sounds of birds on a sunny south facing terrace, or on chilly days having a glass of wine by the fire on comfortable sofas. You can prepare dinner or enjoy coffee, tea or meals in the welcoming, open-plan kitchen. Dining table sits 8 or more.

This is my home and is not always available to rent, I do rent it while I am traveling, which I do frequently, so do please ask for availability. It is a great space for just a romantic time, or a family reunion, there is lots of space to entertain, or just hang out quietly. I rent it at 300 euros a night for normal weekdays, 400 per night at weekends and for holiday weeks. It makes no difference how many people are here, although for more than 7 and parties and events, you need to contact me.

Located in Ivry-Sur-Seine/Paris 13th arrondissement, central Paris (St. Michel /Notre Dame, Louvre, Chatelet) is three stops or 10 minutes ride on the RER C line; a stop further is the Quai d'Orsay, followed by the Invalides and the Eiffel Tower. This is in my opionion the best metro line in Paris , it goes straight through the middle following the river, and then up towards the Arc de Triomphe (Ave Foch) and Porte Maillot. There is a Velib bike station close by for easy cycling into St Germain, or more Central Paris. Bercy Village and Paris beach in the summer is a 15/20 min walk, or cycle/bus, Bercy Village is a converted railway yard with lots of outdoor restaruants, cafe's shops.

Grocery and other shopping is extremely convenient with a huge Carrefour supermarket approx. 100 meters away. And a shopping mall, with Desigual, H&M, and 30 other shops, and a gym. Three days a week (T,W,F) you can buy fresh produce and a variety of goods at a lively open air market in front of Ivry's historic city hall. There are bakeries, cafes, and restaurants in the vicinity. Just down the street the Le Luxy theatre offers French, independent and international films, as does the nearby MK2 Bibliotheque Nationale cinemaplex. Pathe with Imax and 15 + cinemas is a five minute walk. Indoor tennis courts are a block away. There are parks all around, so great for children, across the footbridge is a park with childrens climbing mound and slides, and small children's enclosed playground, somewhere to run etc. A 15 min walk or short cycle is the Bois de Vincennes, 2,500 acres of park and woodland, the Paris zoo, Buddhist Temple, and exercise track, Here you can ride horses etc. Disney land is a 20 min drive, or slightly more by train. It's a perfect , calm space a little away from the bustle and noise of the very centre of the tourist areas. This area has the highest concentration of artists in France.

Parking is relatively easy and inexpensive.

The Paris/Ile de France region

Paris, the most beautiful city in the world.

Paris is famous for it's tourist spots , Museums, Architecture, Romance... possibly the most beautiful City in the world, Versailles is also direct on the local train.

Disneyland Paris 20min drive.

Acess all of Paris by the incredibly useful RER C train, 0.3 miles away, which runs along the river , stopping at all the important places where you can walk from.

So First stop.Bibliotheque, (2 mins on train) the new National Library, Paris Beach/Plage, beach bars, and very funky atmostphere for a city! Cross the river for Bercy Village, full of cute cafe's and restaurants. A real find!

then Austerlitz, for the Botanical Gardens, Natural History Museum, Zoo, The Mosque and fabulous tea house nearby. The sculpture park and tango dancing in the evenings, by the river.

St Michel/Notre Dame , third stop, 7 mins on train, here you are in the CENTRE of Paris, where Paris was founded (you can also walk, cycle, bus here ), Walk around the old city, stop in Cafe's, walk to the Louvre, or the Pompidou Centre. Walk to Boulevard St Germain.

Quai d'Orday, Fourth stop, the famous Impressionist museum is here, cross the river on the footbridge to the Tuileries Gardens and the Louvre. Walk to Boulevard St Germain.

Invalides, next stop, Napoleons Tomb and across the river the Grand Palais.

Pont de Alma, here is the Musee Branly, anthropological museum, cross the river to go up Av. George V to Champs Elysee, or Av Montaigne, for the main fashion shop headquarters!

Champs de Mars, Tour Eiffel , THE Eiffel tower! Cross the river to Trocadero with the museums, sit in one of the cafe's and have breakfast!

And so the whole of Central Paris is covered, probably the only change you need to make is to go to Monmartre/Sacre Coeur, where you need to change metro's

The metro tickets cost for unlimited travel on buses or trains 6,80 euros per day per person. Or there is a tourist ticket for 22 euros for three days. The velib bikes cost 8 euros for a week, and the bike station is at the end of the street about 100 m away. There are many cycle paths.

Central Paris

The loft is in an area of many artist's lofts, on the edge of Paris 13th, called Port d'Ivry, close to the School of Architecture,The University of Paris 7, the fashion school, the Zoo and the Natural History Museum. Access is very easy to Orly airport in particular which is direct, and Gare d'Austerlitz, but transport is very easy it's about an hour from Charles de Gaulle airport by train and 20 mins to an hour by car depending on traffic, Gare du Nord, for Eurostar is normally about a 30 min train ride, 5 stops, on RER B and C. Again taxi will vary. I recommend using UBER cars to get around, it's very convenient.

This is a post industrial neighbourhood, which has now become trendy and 'bobo' bohemian bourgeouis. Most of the old factories have been converted to fabulous artist's lofts, and this group of buildings also has a garden which the master bedroom overlooks, The area has been planted with many trees, and there are several parks, from next door, to a young children's play area across the road, to a older children's play area across the foot bridge, to the Bois de Vincennes which is over 2000 acres. You can run along the river, in the parks, or rent cycles at the end of the street. There are ethnic restaurants, gourmet restaurant and massive shopping mall all within 100 yards or so. Fresh bread and croissants, just a few doors away, and buses and trains into Bercy, or Notre Dame, just round the corner or a few hundred yards away. This is a calm, a little away from the tourist hub, but with easy access in minutes.

The area is a post industrial area, with a huge concentration of artists, the highest in France , you can look at this area on usines-art-ivry.. So it's a post -industrial area , I'm not sure where you are from, but it compares to loft areas of NY or Chicago which I have seen. However it is also very central and by the river Seine , so you can walk/cycle/bus/train into the centre. However there is a good modern and chic/trendy restaurant down the road, and several ethnic ones, and three cinemas, one independent with foreign films,(original language) the Luxy, one Multi cinema comples Pathe, with imax, and one international at Bibliotheqe, showing films not dubbed into French. There is a large shopping mall and huge hypermarket, literally round the corner, less than a block away, where you can buy food, local markets and organic markets, and what else, parks , the biggest park in Paris is across the river , 2500 acres,(there are bike rentals , velib , at the bottom of the road, indoor tennis courts at 100 yards... and of course the walk /cycle down the river. There is Cour St. Emilion a converted railway yard with cute restau's cafe's, etc before Bibliotheque , the Bibliotheqe area, where in the summer there are beach bars and cafe's along the river (it's a lovely walk, I do it often) the Natural History Museum, St Germain, Notre Dame , all very close , walk, cycle, or one to three train stops... The RER C goes all along the river to the centre of Paris and out the other side.. to Versailles. You can get directly to the Eiffel tower, Louvre, Quai d'Orsay, it's really very easy. I sometimes get the train in, or walk, and get a taxi back if I'm late, which is from 11-20 euros, depending where from.

I can send you a few photos of the area if you like, It's not architectually exciting apart from the lofts really, but it's very quiet and a lovely retreat from the crazyness and noise of the very centre, still staying easily accessible.

I hope this answers your question, I have lovely and known neighbours and a communal garden which you could use if the roof terrace does not suffice (which I think it would probably).... and it's safe and friendly.

"Highly Recommend! Don't miss the opportunity!"

I stayed at the loft in June with my friends and family, we were six people, two americans and two brits and two french
It's a wonderful space to be social, cook meals together, have breakfast outside in the garden, or dinner, it's romantic and fun, and a very special place. Magdalena is a great host and made everything comfortable for us. The kitchen is brilliantly equipped, and most definately for foodies. Shopping is round the corner with a great huge supermarket, and prices much cheaper than central Paris, and what fun to look at all the new sections which we don't have in the UK or US, miles of yogurts, cheeses, hams... we barbequed duck breasts, and ate foie gras, yummy.
Transport is easy to get all over Paris, I had an appointment at the Arc de Triomphe and was way too early, it only took me 20 mins to get there!
Note the bedrooms are small, but very comfortable, the beds and linens are really good quality, and really I can't say anything negative.
Recommend highly! great for meeting friends, family, buisness or tourism.

Thank you for your review, it was a pleasure to have you stay, and I'm so glad you had a good time!
