About the home

Situated on the first floor in a "Montmartois" building, French Kiss is a romantic and cozy hideaway located on in a cobble-stoned passage. The name of the apartment was inspired by Doisneau's "Le Baiser de L'Hôtel de Ville", which you find prominently featured in the living room. Never was a more romantic image of Paris taken by one of the world's most renowned photographers. Other images of Paris that have circled the world are featured throughout the apartment.

The apartment has been tastefully decorated to give you a feeling of calm and tranquility even in the busy city of lights. The rooms overlook a small inner courtyard and large windows allow in plenty of natural light. This cozy, intimate retreat is a lovely place which to call home during your stay with us in Paris so we hope to see you soon at French Kiss.

Living room, bedroom and bathroom are all off the entrance hall with the living room having its own door in case you might need to make use of the sofa bed for a third guest. The leather sofa bed opens up to a very comfortable small double (120 cm wide) bed perfect for an adult or a child. Enjoy Cable Television with international news channels and stay connected with high speed internet access for your laptop computer. We will be installing a computer in the apartment by the Spring of 2008.

You will admire the exposed original oak beams in the hall which is a trademark of some of the older buildings in Paris. The apartment has been equipped with all the amenities that you would want for a weekend getaway or a long stay.

The open-plan kitchen has a combination microwave/oven with several program settings to allow you to either re-heat some of the goodies found in the local shops, or to whip up one of your own delightful meals. The state-of-the-art kitchen also has a washer/dryer for your convenience. Enjoy a meal at "home" in the dining area that can sit up to four people.

The bedroom contains a large wardrobe so you will have no trouble unpacking and putting away your things. There is a small writing desk in the corner if you decide to use the old fashioned way and write your postcards and letters. You can also use our Mac computer to access the internet and stay in touch with friends back home. In place are two twin beds that zip together to form a queen size bed but can also be left as singles if you prefer. The bathroom contains a good sized bathtub with shower.

The Paris/Ile de France region

Montmartre has been the home to artists and performers and lovers of the arts for hundreds of years. This is a great location for experiencing the real Paris. Enjoy the buzz of Montmartre and take a step into a relaxed Bohemian atmosphere.

Enjoy an espresso in one of the many bars or cafes or a nice glass of wine on one the terraces. There is always something going on in Montmartre from weekly live jazz performances at local restaurants or the impromptu concert at Place des Abbesses near the Carousel.

The Central Paris / 18th / XVIIIe - Montmartre area

The area is home to the Moulin Rouge, Sacre Coeur and the last vineyard in Paris. The stairs on the street lead to the Sacre Coeur cathedral, which is a 2-minute walk from the apartment. From there, you have arguably the best view of Paris.

If you wish to experience a local French market, you can benefit from the rue du Poteau market for the purchasing of your fresh food products. More exotic food finds can be purchased at the Chateau Rouge market (about 5 minutes away), Paris' most famous African market. Rue Poteau also has many specialty shops where you can buy everything from exotic teas and African & Asian foods, to fresh cheese and meat or just a slice of pizza.

Just about 20 km from Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport.

You can use the RER B to get into Paris (Gare du Nord). Within the Gare du Nord station follow the signs to towards the metro line 6 (if you are coming in on Eurostar or Thalys walk towards the RER station signs first to begin to see the metro line 6 signs). Take line 6 toward Porte de Clignancourt to metro stop Chateau Rouge which is just a short walk away from where the apartment is located.

Be aware that at CDG airport the line to get a metro ticket to go into Paris can be very long as the automatic ticket machines only work for French credit cards.

You do always have the option of taking a regular taxi but the line is often long and you will be charged a small surplus for bags and of course the meter is running even if the traffic isn't moving.

“Spot on!” Great stay. Apartment is well maintained with all facilities needed, including computer and wireless internet. Location is really good, maybe 100 m from Blanche metro so access from airport is easy. The local area has great food outlets, mostly fresh, plus supermarkets, takeaways, bars, restaurants and entertainment. No real need to go far! i would happily go back.

“A great place to experience Paris” We loved our stay at the French Kiss. James gave us an expert introduction to the flat and the area. “Lovely apartment - Good location” We enjoyed our stay at French Kiss. It was a nicely decorated, relatively spacious apartment close to 2 metros, shops, cafes, and practically on the door step of Sacre Coeur. We received a welcome basket on arrival with a nice bottle of wine, we had use of a laptop, free wi-fi, and were also able to phone home free of charge. James who greeted us was very helpful and informative and gave us information about the city. We didnt have any problems with the apartment while we were there & would stay again if we returned to Paris. Response: We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Paris at French Kiss. “Fantastic Apartment!!!” We stayed at the French Kiss for one week and loved the location. It was close to restaurants and shopping and one of the staff was there to meet us when we arrived. We were even given a "welcome" basket. The apartment included all amentities one would need and was also very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone who visits Paris. We were definitely pleased that we stayed in the Montmarte District. Response: So happy to read that you would recommend us and the apartment to others. “Fantastic!” French Kiss apartment is a wonderful location in Montemarte with easy access to bus, metro and 'hop on hop off' bus stops. All amenities were available and the apartment was very clean, well maintained and perfect for the 2 of us. We loved the idea of feeling like we were living in Paris rather than just staying in a hotel room.
