The apartment is a duplex, (2 floors), downstairs are the bedrooms and bathroom, upstairs is the kitchen and living area leading out to the terrasse. The apt has been completely renovated using natural materials, while retaining the original features - parquette flooring, wooden beams, fantastic glass walk in shower. A charming terrasse, (with table and chairs) where you can spend time drinking a glass of wine, catching up with your reading or just soaking up the atmosphere. It has 2 bedrooms with queen beds, a bathroom, (the toilet is located in the bathroom) and a large living room with a single sofa bed.
Lots of space with a modern kitchen with top of the range appliances, such as a SMEG American style fridge to store all the lovely wine and champagne you will need.
The street, rue de la Harpe is situated in the heart of Paris Left Bank, the Latin quarter, nearest metro St. Michel, and Clunny La Sorbonne.
This 750 sq ft (75m2) large duplex apartment is four floors up (no lift) but with plenty of light. You will appreciate the the peace, quiet and privacy that only being on the top floor can bring. The street is pedestrian, so no traffic noise, which is a rare find in Paris.
Note: Paris is a small and busy capital, be careful of 1st or 2nd floor apts as the street noise outside can be very loud.
Fantastic location for evening strolls, boat trips, great food and wine bars all on your doorstep. 'Sex and the City' and the 'Devil Wears Prada' were all filmed near by!!
Please note that due to the size and age of the building no lift is possible. The building is 17th century, and the staircase is narrow in some places. The apt is on the 4th floor of the building, access using the staircase.

Wonderful terrace for eating outside in the spring/summer, really exceptional find in Paris. The terrace is supplied with table and chairs.
The apartment also has hairdryer and portable fans.

I (the owner) manage the bookings and property, I am English and speak fluent French.
We often have same day depature and arrivals, to ensure that the apartment is cleaned and prepared for the next guests, check-in is from 16h00 (4.00 pm) onwards. You will need to vacate the property by 11h00 am on the day of your departure.
Whilst the apartment is being cleaned you are more than welcome to drop off your luggage and collect the keys.
I will be able to confirm with you the earliest, or most convienant time for you to check in on the day of your arrival.
We require a security deposit of 350 euros/UK pounds or 400 US dollars. We need to recieve the security deposit 2 weeks before your arrival. We accept PAYPAL, UK, French and US cheques. We are unable to accept cash on arrival.
On the day of your departure we kindly ask you to vacate the apartment by 11H00, there is no check out required. The apt is cleaned on the day of your departure and your security deposit will be returned on the same day.
Once you have confirmed your reservation we will send you some useful information concerning Paris and the apartment to help you plan your trip.
The Paris/Ile de France region
Rue de la Harpe is right in the middle of Paris' 5th and 6th arrondissement.
Latin Quarter 5th arrondissement
Nicknamed Quartier Latin or the Latin Quarter after its originally Latin-speaking student population at Sorbonne University, this area has a small-town feel and a boho style.
A vibrant mix of students, artists and young professionals dominate the district and the trendy Boulevard Saint Germain.
Along Quai de Montebello are stalls with old prints and knick-knacks. Visit Rue Mouffetard for art shops or take in some jazz at one of the hang-outs on Rue Galande.
The 5ème is named for its necropolis, Panthéon, resting place to Paris celebrities such as Voltaire, Rousseau, Hugo and Zola. This district also has many visitors to its Natural History Museum.
Saint Germain 6th arrondissement
Saint Germain is Paris' boho-chic district, with an array of art galleries, boutiques, modern cuisine and Place Saint Sulpice with a designer flea market.
The Luxembourg palace and gardens are also located in this district. Built for Marie de Medicis in the early 17th Century, the palace and its gardens are a sprawling beauty.
Famous for its café culture, Saint Germain maintains intellects' cafés from last century, for example Les Deux Magots, once frequented by Hemingway, Sartre and Picasso.

Our apartment is located in the famous rue de la Harpe, a pedestrian cobblestoned street two-minute walk from Boulevard St. Germain in the heart of the Latin Quarter. It is within an easy stroll of Luxembourg Gardens, Notre Dame, Musee d'Orsay, the Sorbonne, Sainte-Chapelle, Jardin des Plantes,the Bastille, Marais and Isle St. Louis, etc.
Great for those who love exploring the city on foot, never need a taxi!
Fantastic location for evening strolls, boat trips, great food and wine bars all within a 10 min area.
The neighbourhood is perfect. Did we mention the five-minute walk to the twice a week open air market at Place Maubert, with the most fantastic cheese shop, a must for cheese lovers.
Eurostar station Gare du Nord 15-20 mins on RER B, Airports 30 mins RER B station St Michel on door step.

We are very sorry to hear that you had a disappointing stay at our apt.
We understand how important vacation time is, and we always want to provide high standards.
We hope that guests feel that they can inform us of any issues during their stay, so that we can take the necessary actions immediately.
We certainly aim to provide excellent service to all our guests.
We are the owners and only rent thru holiday lettings. We have been renting for over 3 years, this is the first poor rating that we have received, and are naturally disappointed but certainly respect our guests' comments.
We rent mainly short term (less than a week), and given the number of guests, we understand that our apt will not suit the needs of everyone.
We always appreciate client feedback, and do invite you to read reviews left by other guests. As a rule we never ask guests to leave comments, and all reviews rec. have been submitted without our knowledge.
I would like to take the opportunity to confirm the below:
Our apt is cleaned to a very high standard and all our laundry is dry cleaned externally.
Garbage trucks do not pass in the street at 5am.
We have a metal handrail that is fixed to the wall for the stairs.
We provide a child gate, high chair and cot (however young children should always be supervised).
We advertise the apt as having 1 bathroom, and NOT having a tumble dryer and NO air conditioning, this information is provided before the reservation is taken.
Noise is always very difficult to comment on as it is very much a personal view.
Our apt is situated in rue de la Harpe, Paris Fifth arrondissement. The street has an up market hotel and is made up of private residential apts.
The apt building is residential and rented by professional people. The 5th arrondissement is one of the most central and expensive in Paris.
It is for this reason that our guests often choose the apt for its fantastic location, and Left bank feel. You have the Seine on your doorstep, Louvre, Notre Dame and our guests enjoy being able to walk to restaurants in the evening rather than having to use the metro.
I do understand that if you have young children eating out in the evening would not be something that you would do, and will share this with guests travelling with young children.
However we have had many families with young children who have really enjoyed the location of the apt. There are many parks nrby.
Our apt is in a pedestrian street on the 4th floor with a terrasse overlooking a small courtyard. For this reason our guests often comment on how quiet the apt is for such a central area. There is very little traffic noise.

"Lovely apartment in superb location"
I have just spent a few wonderful days here. You couldn't want for a better location: just by the Seine, Notre Dame, across the river from the Marais, lots of restaurants including one of my favourite bistrots, Chez René.
The apartment itself is spacious, clean and comfortable. Great beds and shower, lovely wooden floors, all amenities and so quiet, given the location in the bustling rue de la Harpe.
The terrace is a good spot for breakfast as it gets the morning sun.

"Central location and charming apartment"
Location in beautiful St Germain de pres (6th) steps from the Seine and Notre dame yet close to Luxembourg Gardens.Another benefit was that the location was only 100 meters from the RER stop coming from CDG. The apartment was well equipped, clean and nicely decorated.The terrace would have been great if the weather had been nice, but we did not expect that when we stayed in November. Very close to grocery stores and great neighborhood bistros. We did not mind the 4 flights of stairs since we are very fit and come to Paris just to see the city by walking which is the best way anyway.Not reccommended for non fit guests because of the stairs and no lift.
